Our plan was to visit Trim for one night before flying home from Dublin the next morning. Unfortunately, we got delayed on our last day and didn't arrive in Trim until late, but the owner was very accommodating and helpful. He got us set up in an excellent room and even allowed us to park in back so we could easily load our bags in the morning before driving to the airport. He gave us many helpful tips on how to drive back to Dublin, including suggestions on where to fuel up and what roads would be the quickest. His advice came in very helpful the next day.

The room was excellently furnished and clean, with a nice-sized bathroom and an in-room dining table. The living room and breakfast area was inviting, but unfortunately we couldn't partake in those areas fully due to our late arrival and early departure. The owner also went the extra mile to have items ready for us in the morning to prepare a cold breakfast, but again we were unfortunately in too much of a hurry to enjoy this... but we were very grateful for his thoughtfulness!

Our biggest regret is that we didn't have more time to spend in Trim and view the wonderful castle and other historical sites in the area. (The castle is just a short walk from the B&B.) Next time we visit Ireland, I want to make Trim our starting point. When we do, we will definitely stay at the White Lodge again.

our front-facing, ensuite, room at WhiteLodge was comfortable and we were warmly welcomed by our host. The bedroom faced the parking area, and had transoms over both the bedroom and bathroom doors, so if light bothers you...beware. We did pull the drapes, but they don’t quite cover the window space. The full size bed, while comfortably equipped with fresh sheets and pillow cases, squeaked on movement. The room felt as if renovations weren’t quite done...door trim, closet floor, paper stuffed in the bathroom door keyhole. We had difficulty with the shower...while quite a good water pressure and temperature...we tried our best to keep the water in the shower but had to put a towel on the floor to mop up the puddle that escaped. (Several places we stay use a glass, swinging, shower door arrangement rather than a shower curtain or sliding doors, as was the case here). The room had a large spider web in the closet corner, as did the dining area where we enjoyed a freshly made full Irish breakfast and also a nicely done porridge (available by request). The property was clean (cobwebs aside), welcoming, comfortable, and an easy walking distance to Trim castle, a park area, and several eateries/bars/restaurants and we would stay again.

Welcoming, warm ,place. Great breakfast. Within walking distance of Trim castle. Easy to visit Newgrange from here. Coffee and snacks offered on our arrival. Nice comfortable welcoming hosts. Short distance from Dublin airport and out of the hustle and bustle of the busy city.

We arrived later than planned after being able to tour Newgrange and Dowth ( highly recommended). The owner was very nice, gave us a map and dinner suggestions. We had to leave early the next morning for our Dublin flight. He told us there would be some breakfast things in the fridge for us. He recommended filling the gas tank in Trim (still was full at return) and told us what time to leave to get to the airport in plenty of time.
