Very interesting place to eat - like a small museum downstairs. Food was delicious and atmosphere lovely.

We went to Butler's for a nice cozy family dinner on our summer holiday. We got a great table with a stunning view over the sunset - and was served by a friendly waiter - so far, so good. At 8 o'clock in the evening the restaurant was quite busy and still people coming in. We ordered 3 main courses and one side dish and drinks. We got our drinks quite fast - and then time stopped - or at least that how it felt. For the next 45min - nothing happened. Then we asked the waiters for an update and after some dialogue back and forth - things started to happen. So after another 15-20mins - we got our meals. Fortunately the dishes were quite tasty (nothing extraordinary though) but this can not justify waiting more than an hour for à la carte courses. So if you go to Butler's - and it's busy - you might want to look at the others guests' faces - if they look hungry - consider going somewhere else.

Looked popular and attractive inside, thought we'd try. Told table 5 mins. Ended up stood up in little corridor for absolutely ages. More people being brought in to wait when we still hadn't been seated. When we finally got a table, order taken quickly, but had to wait ages for food. Looking around the room, a lot of people were waiting. Eventually food came and was mostly tasty, but not very hot. One if our party ordered garlic bread, DON'T ORDER THE GARLIC BREAD. As a garlic lover, not even I could eat it. It was basically several pieces of bread with (not exaggerating) a head of garlic coarsely chopped up on top with a drizzle of olive oil. If anyone can eat that they deserve a medal. Took about 2 hours to have one course! Expensive compared to everywhere else, especially as we realised they'd over-charged us.

We called here a couple of times during our recent holiday. Once for just drinks and once for a meal. We sat right at the back of the restaurant on the veranda- it was just perfect. The service was lovely and friendly. The menu was quite extensive and the food was very good. We would definitely recommend a visit - it’s such a quirky place we loved it.
