This was our 3rd time staying in Monteverde but 1st time at Poco a Poco. We will definitely be repeat customers. The restaurant is one of the best in town and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The grounds are gorgeous and well cared for. Everything was wonderful! We booked services at the onsite spa and absolutely loved our treatments.

This place was exactly as advertised - clean rooms, amazing service, wonderful restaurant which included a delicious breakfast each morning, fantastic pool. Plus, there was even a "welcome drink." It was those small touches that really made it fabulous. It was perfect for our family.

Room tip: Try to book directly on the hotel website to get the best rates for rooms.

I stayed at Hotel & Spa Poco A Poco with my husband and boys (13 & 17 yrs old) for Spring Break. This hotel is clean & the staff is efficient & friendly. The grounds are so interesting. There is a little area that you can walk through where fruit and vegitables are growen. It is a lovely area. The only way I can describe the structure of the property is artistic. The hotel itself is like a piece of art. I don't think pictures do it justice. The buildings are so interesting to look at.....including the flowering vines that hang & the lighting that adds visual entertainment. The pool and spa area is covered and wonderful. The hot tub is large and uncrowded. Breakfast was included & it was very tasty. We ate a small dinner at the restaraunt too. Service and food was excellent. I highly recommend Hotel Poco A Poco if staying in the Monteverde area.

This hotel was one of our favorite on our trip to Costa Rica! From the moment of check-in the staff was so genuinely friendly and helpful, and that continued throughout our stay. The restaurant staff was attentive and the food very good. The grounds are just wonderful, a beautiful setting and spa-like atmosphere - but very family friendly. We loved the little walking path where we saw hummingbirds and birds, and a little agouti! The cleanliness and COVID precautions were top of line. Highly recommend this as a base for your Monteverde adventures!

Very nice hotel. Room was super clean and overall comfortable. I would have liked a couple sitting chairs so when we were in the room we didn’t have to sit on the bed. Also our “private patio” while it was private was very small with room for maybe one chair to sit (no chair there either). That patio did allow for a sliding door allowing us to keep the door open at night to enjoy the breeze which seems to blow all the time there. We didn’t even need the air conditioner as originally expected since it’s summer in March. We were on the second floor, fortunately they have someone to help with the luggage since there is no elevator. If you have bad knees or trouble with stairs this is a handy bit of info to have. I did see mention of it when I booked the room so it was no surprise but there are a good number of stairs/steps here in the common areas although I did notice some ramps.
The restaurant provided good food with attentive service (have the cheesecake!!) although the prices seemed a little higher than what we have experienced throughout this trip.
If you have enough time make sure to get a massage. If you can request Nina you should. She provided one of the best massages I’ve had, very relaxing which was definitely appreciated after all the walking we had been doing.
In short, I would stay here again.
