I loved this hotel. The room was so comfortable - because the interior was lined with cedar planks, it actually had a pleasant cedar smell inside! Very cute property that is away from the main road enough to be a little quieter than the Santa Elena hotels. I just really liked the vibe here. The staff was also very nice.

Room tip: Try to book your room in advance as much as possible.

This hotel is. Pretty basic but served our needs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Located on hill so to go to grocery, restaurant Or main district it’s down hill going and up returning. Probably not a good walk for elderly or disability. ( get a cab). Rooms were fine. Wi fi Scotty. Our breakfast was included and very good.

Room tip: Ground level people walk by your windows. Recommend second floor. However, no elevators.

I would rate this hotel between 3 and 4 star. The 3 star is because it is so basic and does not look like the pictures on booking.com at all. On the site, the hotel and grounds look very vibrant, this is not the case in person. The 4 star is for the staff - very helpful. The hotel restaurant is only open for breakfast. About a 5 minute walk you can find a local soda where you can eat local food. Great value for money and very tasty.

If you are just using the hotel for a place to sleep, then I would recommend.

Tip: Monte Verde weather was much much colder than Arenal. Luckily we had sweatshirts with us. The wind was so powerful that it was actually pushing us.

To get to the town from the hotel is not so far, but you walk down hill and then uphill on the return. After full day hiking the day before, the hills were too much for us lol

We stayed here for two nights.

The hotel is close enough to the main town to walk to well within 15
minutes (downhill to go in and uphill to get back).

WiFi in reception area was the only place that I could connect, it did not work in our room.

Our room was large with two double beds and a balcony. It was a shame that our balcony didn’t even have a chair on as it would have been nice to sit out on. The room was very dark and made worse by the fact that we had to close the curtain as you could see straight into our room otherwise. There is no safe in the room and breakfast is not included in the rate.

However, we felt safe in the room and would recommend staying here especially as we were out of the room most of the time.

Nice basic hotel within walking distance of the town centre. The free breakfast was satisfactory and the grounds has a nice common area with hammocks and chairs to relax in. My only complaint is the building supply store next door, which was quite noisy starting early on the morning. Great value for the money though.
