We loved Por do Sol restaurant, it has a country house feel to it with the decor and the food and service is first class, the waiters are very friendly and welcoming and fantastic hosts. The Fillet steak is absolutely delicious, monkfish chunky and delicious, smoked salmon melts in your mouth and flambe strawberries and creme brulee were a perfect finish. I highly recommend this fabulous restaurant. Can't wait to go back when I am next in Alvor.

Starters of melon with port and smoked salmon followed by seafood cream bisque soup, the best in Algarve and not to be missed!
Steaks and prawn omelette mains to follow.
Chocolate cake to dessert and coffee to follow.
Lovely white and red wine selection throughout.
Very friendly, efficient and professional service throughout as has always been the case in the past.
Reasonably priced for the food and service on offer.
We will return again in the future for sure.

We weren't sure about this restaurant when we first arrived because it is situated next to a shopping center, but, once we were seated it was fine. The food was delicious as was the wine and we were happy that it was part of the tour we were on. Everyone enjoyed the evening. Staff/service was friendly and efficient, too!

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. We’ve been coming here for years. The staff are extremely accommodating and helpful. The food is superb. The menu is pleasingly familiar, high quality produce and perfectly cooked. These are the best steaks we’ve EVER eaten. When in the Algarve we eat a lot of fish however, here we always have the steaks.
Snr Candido and Snr Rui are the perfect hosts. Always ready with a joke and you can’t fault the service
When was the last time you had a flambé? If you go, you simply must have one just for the spectacle. Tip: eat inside as the flambé trolley doesn’t venture outside.
