“Great location and warm!”
Reviewed 10 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We just stayed the one night in early October, and it was not only the welcome warmth of Roger, our host, but the apartment itself - fully centrally heated and with oodles of hot water, that made us feel so comfortable after our drive up from Rome. We then simply stepped out into the town, high on a hill with lovely views across the roof tops. A very convenient base for touring the immediate area (we went to Arezzo for lunch) and with plenty of sights and restaurants in the area. A great discount shoe store is just 2km down the road! Spacious, private and well furnished - It was like home away from home. It is recommended you plan your outings carefully and using Anghiari as a base for a few days would work well - nothing is too far away.

“Idyllic Holiday!”
Reviewed 26 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

You drive up the final bit of a zigzagging road and just before the main square you get to the old tower of Monteloro, on the right. Roger the owner gave us a very warm welcome to this rather lovely place (to which one can have access from his own front door). You climb a short flight of stairs into a small hallway with a round table on which you find a wide selection of books, guides and magazines on Tuscany and its local attractions. On its left two comfortable sitting rooms (one equipped with kettle and a selection of teas) from which you would enjoy a fantastic view on the medieval town and the valley. The bedroom is cosy and fine local tapestry gives it a stylish flavour. The bathroom is spacious and even the shower cabin is large (with a good hot water power). You tread on a beautiful ‘cotto’ floor, very traditional. Fine furniture and splendid prints all around you make this place very homey. What would you do once you unpack? Maybe you have a detailed plan already. But if not and the guides are not enough to help you decide what you want to see ask Roger. He would be all too pleased to give you tips of places to visit and restaurants to go to. In Anghiari itself you should have a stroll around and see the famous ‘Battle Museum’. The view from the top is unique! Within a few miles you have Sansepolcro, Monterchi and Arezzo, all architecturally beautiful in their own right and treasuring the masterpieces of Piero della Francesca and other XV Century great painters. A highly refreshing and enjoyable holiday! Worth going back.

“Comfort, Style, Antique in Ancient Tuscany”
Reviewed 2 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Momteloro is just as I had imagined, a beautiful suite overlooking the ancient town of Anghiari. Although still perfectly authentic, the suite has been modernised with great bathroom/shower and comfortable bed. There are great views over the town and countryside. The Garibaldi cafe was a great spot to start the day with fabulous fresh croissants and coffee and end the day with the quintessential campari spritz on ice. Arezzo is only a short drive away and well worth a visit. Roger was an excellent host and we enjoyed our evenings out together. One can not fail to enjoy this little slice of Tuscany.

“Charming and elegant, ideal Italian stopover”
Reviewed 24 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

This is ideal for anyone looking for a stop over for an "Italian Tour" in Tuscany. We found this to be a really charming, well equipped luxury suite, set in a town house in the medieval town of Anghiari, Tuscany. A spacious 2 roomed suite, tastefully decorated in an ideal position, with fantastic hillside and old town views - extremely good value for money and a very pleasant English speaking host! A great place from which to explore Tuscany and Umbria with superb restaurants and good selection of bars near by, within a few steps - couldn't be more convenient! You really feel the flavour of Medieval Italy here!
