“Wonderful wonderful holiday”
Reviewed 10 March 2015 for a stay in September 2014

Superb facilities, amazing views and a very well equipped villa. It was a very a very memorable holiday for the extended family. The place had great charm with understated elegance. Lazing around the pool, long walks in the hills and luncheons under the vines!

Villa Secarille was the perfect holiday location.

The pictures on this site do not do it justice. Everything from the bedrooms to the garage were exceptional - not to mention the luxurious pool, full size tennis court and breakfast on the balcony overlooking the Tuscan countryside.

10 out of 10. Strong recommend!

“I didn't wamt to leave!”
Reviewed 17 February 2015 for a stay in August 2014

I loved my time at Villa Seccarille.

The sprawling farmhouse is perfect for a relaxing getaway. There's plenty of space to do your own thing and lots of communal areas for drinks and chats (the covered balcony overlooking the pool and rolling hills is probably my favourite spot, but the couches and armchair around the massive fireplace run a close second - especially on a cold night!).

My typical day at Villa Seccarille began with a delicious breakfast – there’s a grocery van that visits the house once a week and an excellent grocery store a ten minute drive away (ask the lovely woman who runs the place to make you a lasagne – you won’t regret it). Then my sister and I would go for a walk, along with whoever else we could drag with us. There are lots of great local walks around the area; my favourite is the two hour mountain hike that takes you up to the gates of an old Italian castle. Once back from the walk the whole family would get together and have lunch. After lunch, we’d lounge by the pool until the sun went down and then we’d move to the upstairs balcony for drinks and dinner.

Mostly we had dinner at the house. Between Mum, Aunt Anna and the woman at the grocery store the home cooked food was too delicious to bother going out much. However we did have a couple of dinners at Locanda del Viandante. It’s a gorgeous old-stone restaurant less than two minutes drive from Villa Seccarille – you can walk there (my dad, my sister and I did) but it’s a bit of a cross country adventure. Ring if you want to go – they’ll open the place up if they know someone is coming.

The food in the area is divine; I swear you can taste the sunshine. Try toast with the local tomatoes, avocadoes and olive oil – it’s a religious experience. The locals are lovely and will go out of their way to be helpful (though I’d advise that you bring an Italian phrasebook with you if you don’t have a native speaker). If you can bear to leave the villa, the nearby medieval town Anghiari is well worth a visit. There are lots of charming local restaurants and walking the cobblestone streets makes you feel like you’ve gone back in time.

So long story short, I can’t recommend Villa Seccarille highly enough. If you’re lucky enough to book some time here you won’t want to leave. We certainly didn’t!

“Breathtaking scenery and a wonderful place to stay - so relaxing”
Reviewed 19 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This villa certainly lived up to the expectations we had. There was ample space, bedrooms were big and beds were very comfortable. The villa more than accommodated the 11 of us that stayed there.

The facilities were superb; table tennis, a huge swimming pool, great tennis court and al fresco dining on the huge dining balcony area was great.

The surrounding areas are relatively easy to get to (Aghiari is 10 mins away) and it's a great place to visit as is San Sepolcro (a 15 minute drive with some good supermarkets).

This is a really great getaway place and lots of room and facilities to accommodate everyone, I would highly recommend to large groups who enjoy activity or not as to sit and view the surroundings by the pool was a real real pleasure - we certainly hope to go again !
