Grieco looks like mostly a new construction, which means comfortable and well insulated rooms and nice clean grounds but missing a bit the charm of the old masserias in the region therefore.
The pool area is fantastic and invites to long days spent in the sun. The lunch restaurant is good and decently priced.
The bit that was rather strange was that the owners spent one of the days with friends from outside the hotel at the pool, which made us feel a bit like we crashed a private party. At some point we were surrounded while not really being noticed...something you just don’t do when you want to be a luxury resort in my view, but hei they own the place and make it very clear :)
In general we didn t feel particularly welcome and the staff and owners were rather unfriendly....saddens me always to see such huge investments with such little passion for hospitality, looks like lots of the business comes from weddings (which is the case with many masserias in Puglia anyway)...
The dining option is a complete no go - make your way into Ostuni or Ceglie if you want a nice meal!
All in all the place is a good base if you plan to visit the area, and fairly well priced for the comfort but far from memorable with regards to service.

Dear Mrs.Daming,
thank you for your review
You are free to say that our masseria misses a bit of charme or that you don't like our restaurant.
It' s your thought so we really respect it.
But I can confirm that is absolutely false that me and my family were having a private party by the pool. It's ridicolous!
We NEVER had a private party in our masseria since the opening cause it's a hotel and we want to guarantee relax and peace to our guests.
That' s why we only organize event and weddings with the exclusivity use of the whole masseria.
We are sorry we looked unfriendly to you and we are really disappointed for this type of review.
We work all day long and hear this fake statement it's really sad for us.

we were there in August 2019 for a week - beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great food. The grounds are scenic and historic yet our room was comfortable and modern. Both room and grounds are spotless. We did daily breakfast and two dinners there - the breakfasts were hands-down the best I've ever had in any hotel anywhere (we still talk about the local ricotta made "milk from cows down the street" every morning). I agree with others that you'll need a car if you want to sightsee but that is true for any hotel in the area. It's not near the ocean but in a lovely vineyard/olive farm and well placed to visit Ostuni, Brindisi and Monopoli. BTW, Lecce is a bit far but it's absolutely gorgeous and well worth a day.

I’d like to thank everyone at Masseria Grieco who did their best to ensure that we have an amazing time.

I stayed there for a week with my baby and my mom. The junior suite is spacious and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast is really delicious with a good variety and fresh ingredients. Dinner set menu is reasonably priced at 35€. The facilities are beautiful and well maintained, especially the pool and garden area. It’s lovely to just walk around the vicinity.

You could easily do day trips around several beautiful towns (5-20km radius) and therefore, this hotel is a good base to stay. We could’ve easily stayed here longer.
We can’t wait to go back to this beautiful place. Highly recommended without a doubt!

We had an absolutely perfect stay at Masseria Grieco in October 2019.

Already from the arrival to the majestic gate you can feel that this place will be something special. Upon arrival, we were immediately upgraded to the Junior Suite, which was incredibly beautiful, overlooking the countryside and with stunning sunset views.

The property is gorgeous, surrounded by flowers of all shapes and colours, they grow their own fruits that you’ll find at the breakfast buffet, and even have their own honey production. We couldn’t get enough of the breakfasts, including fresh cheese, fruits, homemade cakes, a selection of juices, and much more.

We ate 2 dinners on site and both times the menu was delicious (different each night), accompanied by great wine too.

We were lucky with the weather during mid-October and spent one afternoon by the large swimming pool, which was so relaxing.

The staff were incredibly lovely, helpful and accommodating, they went out of their way to help my boyfriend prepare a birthday surprise for me, which was so sweet.

A week later, we still keep talking about how amazing our stay was. If you want a perfect experience for your holiday, romantic getaway, an event, or even a wedding, we believe you will be happy if you book with Masseria Grieco.

The grounds are beautiful. The pool is beautiful. The rooms are spacious. The breakfast is . . . Desert. The dinner was lovely. The bar staff was friendly. There are large beautiful event spaces.

We visited with our family. Staying here as a home base to our visit to the region. The hotel itself is lovely - and for our chill day - where we just relaxed and hung around the pool, it was very relaxing. It is perfect for a quiet couple get away, or a wedding destination.

For more active trips, however, there are limitations. This lovely estate is out in the country. Far away from any city, restaurant or other activity. Every other place you go requires a rental car, and a designated driver. When you leave for the day, there is no dropping back by the hotel to change or freshen up. It’s just too far. You have to tell them at breakfast if you are coming for dinner. So, if you don’t plan to be back, you have to eat out somewhere. This makes for very very long days, because dinner in the region is often not served until at least 8:00. So, we would leave at 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning, and not return until 10 or 10:30 at night. Exhausted. You either wait and eat out late or go without. Not optimal for families. Also, since it is a family run hotel, the hours of coffee, breakfast, office hours are limited. If you have to leave early to make a excursion pick up, there is no coffee or breakfast available. No late night snacks, etc.

So again - lovely and perfect for a “get away.” But, there are limitations if you are looking for a more active and inclusive visit to the Puglia region.
