We have been skiing twice a year for the last ten years and have stayed in some lovely places, however we have never stayed anywhere as near as nice as this place. Mayrhoffen is fantastic for skiing the hotel is amazing and if you can go the same week as the snowbombing festival you will have a wonderful time. Family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 13 and 10

We absolutely love this place! A beautiful apartment in a gorgeous setting. Extremely clean and comfortable, very roomy, and the restaurant next door was amazing. On top of all that, the price is great! !

This is a fantastic hotel in a great location. The staff are really helpful and friendly. I stayed in one of the apartments which is 50 meters from the hotel. These are super nice and modern. There is also a free parking garage located beneath the apartments. The Stock family seem to own everything in the area, they are kind of like the Sopranos of Austria.

Room Tip: Apartments and rooms in the main hotel are both good choices

Don't even think twice: this hotel is much better than the Stock Resort (the only 5-star resort around) if your choice is the Zillertal valley. Warren Buffet once said: price is what we pay; value is what we get.

Well, although this is a 4-star hotel, you will feel better than in many 5-star hotels around the globe.

The hotel is a family business, a hard working family by the way.

One hint: in this area (Zillertal) all hotels have limited services, so don't expect a real room service, there are pre-scheduled times for all meals, during late hours staff is drastically reduced or removed ( lol ) and so on...

But if you ever want to experience Zillertal, and ride great resorts/slopes in places like Hintertux, Mayrhofen, Finkenberg etc. go to the Bergfried.

Many thanks to Franz, Werni, Susan, Johann, Nicole and Ben.

Room Tip: There are some rooms that were recently built and they are very nice.

Absolutely fabulous, no way will you find any faults with this hotel. An oasis of comfort, unsurpassable friendliness of all the staff and the most tremendous, remarkable and delicious Cuisine we have come across in Europe. Memorable the evening in the 'Alm' with Benny and Maggie and the boss and his band playing 'oldies'. That was fantastic! A must for everybody. Keep it up Bergfried Team, we loved every moment of our stay with you. We will be back!

Room Tip: Junior Suite is very spacious with lots of storage space and has a separate sitting area which can also be used by 2 kids for sleeping.
