Glencot house was sold in 2011 and no longer run as a hotel and restaurant. A great shame as their Sunday lunch was the best value and quality for miles around.

I got married here in 2010 and loved every second of being in that building. I am devestated that they have decided to sell .... hopefully we will make it to their Cornwall version in the coming years ...

The best thing about this restaurant is the setting. It's located in an old house that is crammed full of antiques, photographs, stuffed animals and ornaments. You get the run of the property and it's great to have a look around after your meal and take a walk around the lovely grounds.

The food is good, but a little overpriced. The staff are excellent.

My partner and I have been to this hotel twice for dinner in the past month.

On the last occasion when we arrived we were ushered into the lounge for a drink. It's a bit like something out of Alice in Wonderland. The room was fairly large but still felt really cosy and the whole hotel is stuffed with antiques, curiosities, framed photographs of the owner and his family, photographs of celebrities and lots of books so there is plenty to look at and they are certainly interesting and would be good ice breakers. We sat in the window although there is a lovely spot by the fire.

We were then asked if we would like to sit on the balcony which is one table on a tiny balcony overlooking the lovely, and what feels like your own Secret Garden.

We had a lovely meal in an idyllic setting, the service was good and the whole feel of the hotel is friendly and cosy - I could quite happily live there!
