This was our second visit in two years. Select a room with a balcony - they are fabulous overlooking the sea. The restaurant is excellent especially for seafood but also for meat dishes too. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Ask about the buses and boats - there is a well run service travelling out from the hotel by bus, sailing down the coast and then returning by bus. Also be sure to visit their sister hotel where guests have full access to the swimming pool. The staff there are very welcoming and helpful too.

We have visited this restaurant many times over the past 15 years mainly because of the ambiance and the location. But this year they have really upped their game in terms of the food
.We really enjoyed the meal. The quality was excellent
Really good choice of wine. Very good service.
Will be back again next year

I give this a 4 rating as the location is simply wonderful, and getting up early (by Spanish standards) and walking out in the tranquil morning is invigorating. The hotel is perched on top of a hill, and while a pleasant walk to Llafranc is easy, the return walk in the heat of the day is not good (a taxi cost us nearly 20 Euros, as they come from Palafrugell, and the tourist bus is one option at 5 Euros per person, but only comes every 90 minutes, and is day time only).
The hotel is charming, but you get the feeling that the accommodation is an extra to the restaurant. Our room (suite number 1) had very poor air con, and the internet in both ours and our son's room was totally useless. The view was however exceptional, and breakfasts were excellent. Room repairs could do with being done (the shutters were not closing as were seized up), and the water pressure is terrible, making running a bath a marathon experience. Certainly a mixed bag.

This was probably our 5th stay at the hotel.. You cannot beat the location and incredible view out to sea and along the coast - truly unique. The hotel is very nice, most rooms have balconies and patio areas to enjoy the views. The restaurant is also very high quality, with a focus on fresh fish and spanish cuisine. Both the hotel and restaurant are expensive but reflect the strength of the location. The lighthouse building itself has recently been converted into a nice Japanese restaurant which is a good addition since there are now 2 great restaurants on the doorstep without having to walk into Llafranc which is down/up a steep hill. My only slight criticism of the restaurant would be that the bathrooms need updating given the price point.

We went to Restaurant El Far for Garoinada festival and it was a great experience. We didnt stay at the hotel so I cant comment on that but the restaurant is great. Make reservations well in advance and ensure to request for terrace seating as you are then overlooking the sea. The view is beautiful and the food is great! The service is okay but they can be a little slow sometimes and dont take customizations and side dish requests too well.
The area around the hotel/restaurant is quite beautiful for a walk or a hike.
We tried the sea urchins which were great - a little small but we tried two dozen so they were quite good....
We also tried the fish of the day - was fresh and well cooked...
We also tried the fried sardines - most of the seafood was fresh and great...
Definitely recommend for a nice sunny seafood lunch!
