“Great Place to Stay!!”
Reviewed 25 September 2011

Just back from the Terraza Amadores 16th - 24th September. I would highly recommend these apartments. They are Spacious and in excellent condition and kept immaculately clean. The large balcony with access from both the bedroom and living area is a useful and pleasant feature. The staff at the apartments are helpful and always speak as you pass. The location is ideal for the beach, on a slight incline with a spar on site. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning and the fact you have to leave your patio door open at night which leaves you exposed to traffic noise early mornings. Will definitely return.

Our second visit to the Terraza Amadores.
it is well named because it is a 'LOVELY' place to stay.
The appartments are very spacious, very clean and facilities in the appartments are good.
we stayed there in Sept 2011 and May 2010, weather was very hot as usual so you will need a fan for the room for evenings.
The large Balcony with the great see view and view of the beautiful beach was great to sit in evening with a glass of the local Sangria.
Reception staff as always very friendly and helpful, and more than happy to have a chat.
only a 5 minute walk to the Beach. 20 minute walk to Puerto Rico round the Mountainside is Stunning during the day or Evening.
New Management in the Pool Bar the First day we arrived.
A lovely Family from the South of England who have done a great job with the Pool Bar Facilities. Great Breakfast, snacks and lunch available throughout the day.
Try the Sangria on Tap, it's great, i had a couple it was that good.
well done to all.

Room Tip: level two or threee for the View to the see and beach.

We stayed for two weeks in September 2009 but have only got round to doing the review now. We had a room with a view to the sea. It was beautiful. The balcony went the whole length of the apartment. The kitchen/dining/lounge area was clean and spacious. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. The shower was huge and, again, very clean.

The beach at Amadores was clean and safe. It was an easy walk around to the neighbouring bay to get to Puerto Rico (where there were more shops etc). We organised our own jeep safari which was fun but we probably wouldn't recommend it.

We loved the boat trip to Puerto Mogan organised by the rep. The market was great for all sorts of things (scarves, trinkets, food etc). We had a lovely meal at Mogan and still talk about it now.

Terraza Amadores is one of the hotels closest to the beach. When we were being dropped off on the transfer we were really worried as all the other hotels were at the top of the incredibly steep hill.

Amadores generally is a quiet place which we found very relaxing. The Spar shop was well equipped. The bar at the swimming pool served snacks during the day. They were tasty and reasonably priced.

We still talk about how much we loved this holiday even two years after going. We cant wait to come back one day.....

A very good place if you are looking for quiet, not luxury accommodation to relax, together with your family. The location is great, 5 min. walking to Amadores Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on Gran Canaria, 2-3 min. walking to the bus stop where you can take the Global bus to the airport, the capital city Las Palmas and most major interesting places on the island. It might be wise to rent a car if you want to explore the island instead of just laying on the beach. Then there are free parking places outside the hotel.

The 2-room apartment is large enough for a family with 2-3 kids, a twin bed in the bed room. The sofa bed in the sitting room is ok for 2 kids. There is still space for extra beds. Bath room with toilette is large enough. There is a simple kitchen without baking oven but with microwave for making simple food. You can buy some food (also wines and beers) in a small supermarket which is outside the hotel, actually on the first floor of one of the hotel buildings.

There is no air condition. I read some reviews complaining this before. It’s said it’s possible to rent a fan. However, it’s not necessary for my family actually. I used to use the curtains to shade the rooms a couple of hours in the afternoon, then open the doors for a couple of hours in the evening. It was not very hot, not at all.

There are some bars and restaurants near Amadores beach. To find much more bars, restaurants and shops, you have to take the bus to Puerto Rico. The time and ticket price are negligible. However I prefer to have a walk along the coast. It takes about 20 min.

There are outdoor swimming pools in the hotel, one for small kids one for big kids or adults. Together there is a bar to buy some food like pizza, wines, and beers.

Room Tip: I stayed in an apartment on the third floor. Maybe it's the best apartment.

We had the pleasure recently of saying in the Terraza Amadores apartment for a fortnight. We booked this establishment because of it's proximity to the beach and what a beach....... glorious golden sand and warm turquoise water- fab.

The apartments are spacious and clean . The front door leads straight into the kitchen/living room. There is a small twin bedroom off the kitchen and also the bathroom leads off the kitchen. There is no bath only a shower but it s a very powerful shower although the water is solar heated which leads to cool showers on cloudy days.
the balcony is terrific and as we were on the top floor we enjoyed a nice view of the sea. There are doors leading from the living area and also from the bedroom directly onto the balcony which was furnished with a table and chairs and also 2 sunbeds. The apartment is really only suitable for 2 persons. My rather tall teenage son slept on the couch and this was extremely uncomfortable and resulted in his having a pain in his back and a sore head from hitting his head off the wooden arm rest in his sleep a few times. It is really only suitable for a much smaller child.

The kitchen had a microwave and a 2 ring cooker both which worked well and there were plenty of cutlery and crockery and so on. Most importantly there was a wine opener.

The pool is nice, not great just nice. However as it is small in size and most days was filled with lilos and other inflatable things this meant that only about a quarter of it was available for swimming. The kids pool was miniscule which meant that all the kids were jumping into the main pool which added to the pandemonium. We went to the beach most days as it is so near and so nice and got away from the picadilly circus of the pool.

The pool bar was open every day of our visit. They advertsed a twice weekly barbecue with live music which was in actual fact a once weekly barbecue without entertainment which meant that once the food was eaten that was it. We went once and it was ok . Cost €7.50 a head.

The lack of entertainment however was made up by the extremely loud entertainment (with the most excruciatingly awful Karaoke) from the second next door premises which could be heard for miles around as everything echoes in the valley between the rocks. It did tail off around midnight each nightand the peace that followed was bliss

The staff were the most pleasant people I have ever met/ The women dressed in long Canarian style outfits which looked nice but must be extremely hot to wear. The lady in reception who worked there every day, was very helpful and gave good advice when asked re buses trips etc. She is most definately a huge asset to the place.

The pool bar was staffed by one of the nicest Spanish barmen ever and his Dutch wife. I would have loved to be there on the night of the World Cup Final if they were both working.. I'd say the fun was great.

There is a washing machine which can be used for €5 a go this includes the dryer and we used it to wash our beach towels . It is situated in the basement which is dark with hardly any lighting and was creepy to say the least. I ran in and out hoping there was nothing crawly lurking in the gloom (didn't see anything thankfully)

The main drawback to this place was the lack of airconditioniong. As the apartment block is built into the rock face there is no breeze blowing and as a result the air in the rooms at night is stifiling. We bought 2 fans which wafted the hot air around a bit and this, combined with keeping the balcony doors open all night, meant that at least we could get sleep of a sort.

i would hate to be there in late July or August as the temp when we were there never exceeded 27 or 28 deg by day, if temps were in the high 30's I'd say you'd bake at night.

We had a great holiday although there is NOTHING to do for teenagers in Amadores and no wi fi anywhere which renders Iphones useless. My son spent a kings ransom using the computer in the basement at €1 every 10 mnutes it sure adds up.

Would I return here? Not in summer and most definately not with teenagers,
as a couple in spring or autumn, yes.
