A very clean hotel with good prices in a wonderful part of Tuscany. Service was very warm and friendly. Lamporecchio is a beautiful town and staying at this hotel was part of the experience. I can recommend this place as it is good.

We are currently staying here with a group of 10 for 11 nights. The staff are great, friendly and helpful ( bring your phrase book and practice your italian). The rooms are spotless and cleaned everyday. Comfortable beds, aircon, safe, etc. Breakfast is nice and the smell of pastries wakes you up even on the third floor! Highly recommend as a base camp for driving around Tuscany.

Room tip: Lamporecchio is quite a jumping little place, Friday is market day along the Main Street. Stroll around the restaurants in the evening ( all of them have great meals) and meet Elvis in the Bar down the road.

I would never have found this hotel if I did not have a business meeting in the area, last summer. My nephew booked two rooms, and though in the height of the tourist season, the hotel was virtually deserted. This small hotel is very well maintained, with friendly, helpful staff, and spacious clean rooms, with TV. Bedding is changed daily, and a very adequate, if not spectacular buffet breakfast is included in the modest price. Lamporecchio, a nondescript, working-class town, is only about 45 minutes drive from Florence airport, and 20 mins. from the touristic centre of Vinci, with all its connections to the great artist and scientist, Leonardo. The town has a functional weekly outdoor market, a good supermarket, and the Hotel Antico Masetto, as other reviewers have said, is well recommended as a reasonably priced and convenient base for exploring Tuscany by car: don't miss the beautiful hill-town of Montecatini Alto. Hotel Antico Masetto is connected to an excellent restaurant up the street, also the 'Antico Masetto'. We had excellent 'Florentine steak' and mouth-watering pasta with truffles there.

Room tip: All rooms are relatively peaceful, due to decent, double-glazed windows. The ones at the back are obviously quieter.

Lucca, Firenze, Pisa, Pistoia are in close reach. Lamporecchio is unremarkable but in that a good break from the mass tourism going on in the other places. Also you get a bit of a feel how regular folk live in Tuscany.

Hotel staff are unusually friendly. WIFI is free and the signal is good. The rooms are clean, and - also quite unusual - have tasteful interiors in terms of furniture, flooring, bathroom set up. Pretty fab, actually. And - wow - double glazed windows keep out the noise from the street very efficiently.

Breakfast was very ok, too, although not spectacular.

Overall, it is hard to imagine you would not like staying in the place.

NB: try to avoid passing the Montalbano hillrange to the NE of Lamporecchio. It is studded with those notorious neverending Italian country roads that can be a bit if a pain to drive, esp at night.

I stayed with my husband in Antico Masetto for 5 days. Very clean bathrooms, sheets and towels changed every day. Perfect hotel when you travel around Tuscany by car and you just need a comfortable place to sleep. Breakfast was nice too. I definetely recommend this hotel but just to sleep in...nothing much to do there beside spending the night:)
