A hearty ramble to see the cliffs and stunning scenery around such as puffin island etc. Windy as it could be but didn’t detract from a wonderful time

Headed up to the Cliffs of Kerry as sadly our boat trip to the Skelligs got cancelled due to high winds. It didn’t disappoint. There were two vantage points with excellent photo opportunities and only a 10 walk to each albeit steep. Car park was large and had toilet facilities and a mobile cafe with Irish baked cakes. I read on here a lot of people moaning about paying to get there but to be fair - you get the toilets, car park and use of the farmers land which has reconstruction beehive huts and it all fenced off where it needs to be to prevent falls. €4 is well worth it. If you do the ring of Kerry this is worth the detour.
My husband is an amateur photographer. We were driving around the Ring of Kerry, saw the sign for The Kerry Cliffs and decided to stopped. So glad we did because he took some amazing pictures! The cost to enter was 4.00 Euros per person and it was well worth the price! It was about a 10 minute walk to the first view and longer to climb higher up to get a different view.
As many have already said, this was an accidental stumble upon experience. But even if it was planned, I'd go back in a heart beat. At my recommendation, a family member did the Kerry Cliffs, and then did the Cliffs of Moher because her travel companions just had to see it. They all agreed that because of the crowds it just wasn't as charming as Kerry Cliffs. See Cliffs of Moher from pictures, but do Kerry Cliffs in person. And if you happen to stay the night in Port Magee, look up because it's a Night Sky Preserve!
To be honest, when asked for 4 eur at the ticket office, thought it was too expensive for a view! But it is totally worth it!
This is worth the few dollar charge. The view is beautiful, especially at sunset. You get a nice view of Skellig Islands.
