So many words to describe this place... sensational, amazing, incredible, luxurious, peaceful, tranquil and beautiful to name a few!
From the moment we arrived, when the reception staff came outside to greet us, to the time we said goodbye, we were treated like celebrities. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and helpful. From organising shuttle transfers, making dinner reservations or giving advice and tips, they were wonderful.
Thank you to the mini bus diver, taking us where and whenever we wanted to go and for being so courteous.
The housekeeping staff did a marvellous job as the whole place was immaculately clean. We received fresh towels every day, both beach and bathroom towels. The night service also included fresh towels, water and cake. We didn’t use the mini bar but it was well stocked with soft and alcoholic drinks and snacks. A bottle of water was replaced each day free of charge and of course you could request more. The housekeeping staff noticed we were drinking lots of water and regularly left extra bottles for us.
Our suite was incredible, white, peaceful and huge! Bedroom with built in wardrobe, a good sized bathroom with rainfall shower and soft close toilet seat. Plenty of toiletries replaced when used. Separate lounge area with sofa, chairs, tv and stereo. All suites have either a jacuzzi or pool. Ours had a lovely big jacuzzi! The whole balcony was enormous and had very comfortable sun loungers, a sofa, table and chairs and a day bed. Every suite has a view of the sea on the east side of the island - perfect for watching the sunrise first thing in the morning.
The location of the hotel is on a hillside approx 1.5 miles from Imerovigli. This gives the perfect relaxing setting away from the busy hustle and bustle of the caldera. So serene and we loved to sit in the balcony and gaze out to the sea. You always have the option to take the courtesy mini bus to Imerovigli whenever you like.
Hats off to the chef at Amber Lights too. Every meal we ate was outstanding. The buffet breakfast consisted of hot items or cereal, fruit, yogurt and pastries and optional eggs however you liked including Santorinian omelettes. Snack options for lunch or throughout the day included burgers, salads and club sandwiches. Of course room service was available too. Dinner really was incredible. Top class service accompanied the exquisite menu which was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. My favourite was the lamb 2 ways. We also attended a special Santorinian evening at Amber Lights which included relaxing Greek music and a wonderful menu of food we would never have been able to try elsewhere. You can dine outside under the stars or in the air conditioned interior part of Carpos restaurant.
The pool and public areas are also kept very clean and our jacuzzi was filtered every day.
There is also a spa with many different treatments available.
To summarise, Amber Lights Luxury Villas is an exceptional, friendly and relaxing place to spend your holiday, fantastic attention to detail. Thank you!

Our stay at the Amber Lights was amazing. We were a party of 9 and had 4 rooms. Each of the rooms was more amazing than the other. Views were incredible and the hotel was spotless. The morning breakfast was well done and included a buffet as well as made to order omelettes. The staff was so pleasant and helpful.

Although we enjoyed our stay, everyone agreed that if we return we would opt to stay at a hotel closer to Oia. Amber Lights is in a remote location and taking taxis to Oia and other places on the island was extremely expensive. Also there is no ability to walk to beach or town. The remoteness may be desire able for some travelers.

We stayed here for 9 nights for our honeymoon and couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. It is peaceful and private, in a stunning setting. All the staff are incredibly friendly and offer a very personal service. It is quite remote and there is nothing within walking distance but the nearest village of Imerovigli is easily accessible by the complimentary transfer service (which is always available at a time to suit you). A reasonably priced transfer service is also available to take you wherever you want to travel to. We hired an ATV for 2 days which was a fun way to see the island! The beautiful towns of Oia, Fira and Imerovigli are all easily accessible but are incredibly busy and so it was lovely to see the sights but return to our peaceful haven! Also, these towns offer stunning sunsets but the most incredible sunrise can be seen from the privacy of your own balcony.

The villas have a fabulous restaurant which offers exceptionally friendly yet efficient service and also has the best food. The breakfasts are wonderful and offer everything you could ever want to eat and drink which is part buffet and part a carte service. We also ate here for lunch and dinner a few times and can also say the meals were the best we had both in terms of quality and also value for money.

From rooms to public areas, the whole place is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Maid service is twice daily and all towels are changed on each occasion. A welcome basket of fruit and wine was delivered on the first day and cake was left each evening. The only minor downside for us was that tea and coffee facilities were available but were chargeable as mini bar items. Similarly, only one bottle of complimentary water was offered on arrival but subsequent bottles were also charged through the mini bar. We used the complimentary transfer to take us to the supermarket and bought our own as we were staying for so long.

Having said this, the complementary toiletries included shaving kit, vanity kit, shower cap, toothbrushes and paste, in addition to the usual shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. These were also replaced as soon as they were used.

We stayed in a room with a hot tub and only once visited the main pool once as we had everything we needed in our room. However, the pool area is lovely with ample sun loungers.

In conclusion, if you want to stay somewhere luxurious that is quiet and private with friendly staff, fabulous food and drinks and stunning views, then this is the place for you!

Room Tip: Not rooms 111 or 112 as they're next to the restaurant.

Amber Light Luxury Villas was perfect from the start. They made pick up at the aiport super easy, front desk service was fantastic through the whole stay & rooms were super clean. Front desk helped with just about everything (transportation set up, atv rental/return, spa service). The hotel is located on the more calm side, but it was def great to relax. The 2 main towns were only 10-15min away. Breakfast was really good. Very happy with my stay. I'd def recommend to others. Thank you for a great first visit to Santorini.
