The Above Blue Suites is throughout the island's highest, when we got there attracted by the beautiful sign, the waiters are very nice and careful, bring us a cool wine, the room equipment is advanced, music to make us relax, the breakfast was GREAT! you can choose anything you like the food they provide room service every morning.
Here is the best place to see the sunset, better than Oia!! I have seen a sunset wedding in here, particular romance.

Above Blue Suites is the place to stay if you visit Santorini. The moment we arrived on the island we were greeted by a gentleman that was waiting for us at arrivals with our private transfer. This is a must because the island has a shortage of taxis and you don’t want to waste a minute when you arrive. We were whisked away in a Nissan Pathfinder that could have not been more than a year old. He helped with our bags and was a pleasure to ride with. Upon are arrival we were offered a cold refreshment (champagne) and given a quick explanation of all the offerings of the hotel and surrounding area. The keys were very cool and they explained how they are used as “Do Not Disturb Signs”. We were immediately taken to our “Above Blue Villa”. If you haven’t been to Santorini you won’t believe the view of the Caldera. It’s something that sends chills down your spine at first site. The villa is just down the path from the hotel that has it’s own pool. Not that big but it’s enough to cool off and have some privacy from the rest of the hotel. Room service is something to experience. 5 star hotels in North America should learn from this place. Everything was as ordered and “On Time”. The room was “SICK” in a fantastic way. The beds “heavenly” the towels like feathers, the entertainment system right out of a club. If you have the chance GO and enjoy. Thank You Suzana and your team. :)

Room Tip: Above Blue Villa if you want your own pool.

We had fun in Santorini staying at Above Blue Suites in spite of a storm coming in during our five night visit. This is the risk we took coming in October. The recommendations for restaurants were sometimes a little pricey but there is a local restaurant whose name I will not mention that they sent us to on our first night and which we visited again because the food was so good. It is in walking distance, the food amazing, the staff friendly and warm and we don't want to ruin it by sending everyone. Stay at Above Blue Suites and I am sure they will send you to this walkable restaurant that only opened in the last year. If you are offended by cats begging, this will be a problem.

This restaurant has trained the stray dogs to stay at the perimeter of the restaurant's outdoor seating area, and they promise that unfinished food will be fed to the stray animals at the end of the night. We love animals, so we were entertained by the canine and feline visitors.

Above Blue staff arranged a rental car for us and made good recommendations about where to visit on the island. The price was, I believe, 40 euro, as it was on Rhodes as well. Because Santorini is so small we saw quite a bit of the island, and because it was shoulder season, October, there were fewer tourists so we had long conversations with many Greeks about the current political situation, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

We still marvel at how hard Cisco worked to drag our bags up and down the stairs and to deliver breakfasts to every room at the appointed time each day, despite heavy winds and rain. We enjoyed our cozy hideaway, the Rose Suite, and appreciated and respected the privacy afforded all guests by the customs established by the management at Above Blue Suites.

We got a kick out of watching couples at other nearby facilities have their wedding photos taken on the roofs of other properties and seeing the sun set each night from our balcony or the road where the cars are parked, up even higher than our suite. Spectacular.

We never swam in the main pool, but it was beautiful to look at. We enjoyed our private jacuzzi and the artistic bathroom installed in our suite. We agree with other reviewers that the TV not being visible from the bed earns a demerit as the 'sofa' is not more than a cushion over a very hard surface. If you should relax while watching tv or eating breakfast inside (which we did some days because of the weather) you are very likely to bang your head on the very hard surface wall behind the 'sofa'. On a positive note, this was one of only two hotels of the six we used in Greece which provided the equipment to boil water for tea in your room. I really appreciated this and had brought my own tea so I could be assured of a comforting cup of tea whenever I wanted. The entire set up for tea/coffee in the room was provided, along with abundant candles for a romantic evening.

We had brought our own macintosh computer, but it was nice that they supplied one in the suite if you did not bring your own. They were always happy to make a call for us if we needed assistance coordinating anything for our trip.

We appreciated the lengths to which the management goes to make sure no-one is hurt by flying umbrellas in high winds and to keep the cushions on the outdoor seating dry so we could enjoy them when the weather improved. We felt very safe during a high wind night in our little cave overlooking the caldera. The sky is amazing and the walk to Fira very enjoyable - it is mostly downhill from Imerovigli to Fira, so this is the direction in which to walk. Great photos from every vantage point at and nearby this hotel.

Everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful - they work very hard, long hours, and it wasn't a problem that no-one is on staff after 10pm. There is an emergency phone number if you need it. The habit of ordering breakfast for a certain hour is very nice and our last night we forgot to put in an order, so they made a decision for us and selected our menu and we had a fine, if smaller, breakfast on our travel day back to mainland Greece. We were happy to have the transfers organized by Above Blue to and from the airport in Santorini.

The filter coffee in all of Greece is disappointing, and this is true at Above Blue also. (It was too weak, and not warm enough after a couple of minutes whether outside or inside - purchase some insulated carafes to provide next to the french press and that will take care of coffee temperature). The room service we ordered on our last night was tasty and satisfying, if a bit cool upon delivery. The hotel has probably closed by now and we give them a pass for being a summer destination. Keeping things warm when they are being delivered from a couple of floors away, when you are walking outside, is an understandable challenge. We would return to Santorini in September next time to ensure better weather. That said, it was a glorious way to start our holiday in Greece. We were happy in our two rooms, with splendid bathroom, including excellent and abundant toiletries. What really distinguishes this hotel is the private balcony and private hot tub and personalized service from the warm, bright and capable staff. Thank you to everyone at Above Blue.

Room Tip: The higher up the suite, the more sweeping the view, but there are no bad views from Imerovigli on this side of the street.

The Above Blue Suites is a great place to stay for a honeymoon or couples getaway. The hotel is relaxing, private, and caters to anything you could want. Starting the day with breakfast on our private balcony was amazing and the selection of food was great....it was hard not to just check off everything on the very extensive list.

We stayed in the Siren room which had a huge shower and our own private hot tub on the balcony. The room was in a good location in the hotel as we were down a level from the pool and above the public walkway that runs below the hotel. Our first night we were upgraded to the Golden Echo suite which was unbelievable with its indoor and outdoor hot-tubs and two king-size beds.

The satff at the hotel treated you like you were the only guests there. Spiros and Suzanna were extremely helpful in making dinner suggestions and reservations and renting a car for us to tour the island. Demetris the bartender was always friendly and happy to make any drinks we wanted, and Sisko always had our breakfast brought to our room at the exact time we requested.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk along the pathway to Firostefani which has some good restaurants and about a 35 minute walk to Fira. I don't recommend doing the walk during the day (too hot and not much shade), but it is quite nice in the evening.

Overall, the hotel is very relaxing and accommodating...it actually spoiled us for the rest of our honeymoon as each hotel we went to got compared to Above Blue (but none of them measured up).

The Above Blue Suites is set on a perfect location at Imerovigli, offering superb views of the coast of Caldera. The location of this complex is excellent, offering easy access by car.
We stayed for three days. The Staff was very friendly. Suzana was helped us giving all needed info about the island.
The Golden Eco, (our suite) with an original and most attractive design, has been furnished to provide extremely comfortable accommodation and is equipped to the highest standards. The luxury standard of Golden Eco makes this suite perfect for the most discerning of clients. It is fabulous for a luxury romantic hideaway for a couple and at the same time could be great for families with children. Above Blue Suites is the perfect choice for unwinding under the warm Aegean sun with peace and quiet that will restore the soul.
We promise to come back.
