I defy anyone not to feel instantly relaxed on arrival at the Aurora. With only 22 rooms and a secluded and peaceful location it's the perfect place to switch off and clear your mind. All you need think about is what you might want to eat or drink from the excellent restaurant or bar menu!

We stayed for a week and came home feeling thoroughly revived and refreshed. Everything about the Aurora is excellent. The rooms and grounds are pristine, the pool has plenty of space and options for sunbathing including day beds and loungers, you can even catch some rays from a hammock if you wish. There's a real laid back feel to the whole complex and as it was occupied mainly by couples when we were there, very quiet too.

The staff are incredibly helpful and attentive without being overbearing. The smaller size of the hotel also means you get to know them and get the sense they're really looking out for you and go out of their way to make your stay a special one. They'll even pick you up and take you to the airport, as well as run you to nearby Fira, Oia and anywhere you like (give them a bit of notice tho!).

Breakfast, included in the price as part of our trip, was of top quality with hot and cold variety - the Greek omelette is a great choice. We also ate there at lunchtimes and on a couple of occasions in the evening too. The food was top notch - stunningly presented and easily comparable in terms of price and flavour to some of the restaurants we visited in Fira and Oia. The service was excellent too - with extras such as typical Greek drinks thrown in between courses.

If you're thinking of booking then be aware that the Aurora sits on its own in an isolated it beautiful spot by the sea with its own rocky beach. As it's accessible only by a dusty unfinished road which would batter the tyres of any hire car, you do need to rely on the hotel for transport, unless you hire a quad bike as many did. Personally I enjoyed the seclusion of the hotel and it felt like a real oasis after an evening meal out or daytime shopping trip to the bustling nearby towns and villages on the island.

If you're looking for somewhere to really tune out in chilled out surroundings, then this is your place. As Santorini isn't that big, although the Aurora is remote, it's still close enough to the island's main attractions so you don't feel you're missing out. It's a relatively new hotel too and even though it's already excellent, I'd love to come back in a few years when they're more established, to see how they develop and make it even lovelier that it is.

Thank you to George, Mary and the team, you've given us some fantastic memories and we'll be recommending you to all!

We arrived at the airport - was greeted by George - and effortlessly arrived and checked in after a long long day of traveling. Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff greeted us with boundless hospitality, the grounds and amenities were on par with any comparable resort, and the hotels free shuttle was perfect to blend sight seeing and down time! While a short ride away from Fira and Oia - you will welcome the easy accessibility to these towns which can get very crowded. Hotels breakfast was quite substantial and the restaurant menu was equally appealing. We had a terrific stay!

I loved our week's stay in the Aurora! At first I thought we might regret it as it is isolated from anywhere else but that soon became one of the reasons I loved it! The fact that George could take us to Fira and Oia and pick us up (as well as to and from the airport) for free meant that it wasn't a problem and in fact, it was great to stay away from all the tourists! We also hired a quad bike for 2 days which was a fantastic way to see the whole island.

I had cheekily asked for an upgrade as it was our honeymoon but we didn't get one although we did get a nice note with a bottle of Asti Martini and fruit so that was a nice touch on arrival. Our room was quite basic, which suited us fine as we weren't in it much. The hot tub was outside, which was great to enjoy our Asti in on the one night there were thunderstorms! There was a good selection of toiletries and a decent shower but the toilet seat was wobbly which was annoying but not enough to moan about. Beware the minibar in the room though, we didn't have a price list and on arrival, the receptionist had told us not to drink the tap water but that there was water in the fridge, which we wrongly assumed was free but was in fact 1€ per (small) bottle.

Breakfast was great, there's a big buffet selection consisting of cereal, yogurt, cheese and ham, salad, pastries, bread, sausages and bacon, and more! Most days they had some kind of chicken pie which was really delicious! They also give you a menu from which you can select from a variety of ways to have your eggs, or different pancakes. Their omelettes were lovely but huge!

We also had an evening meal there and although it was really tasty, it was quite expensive, but as there is nothing else around you don't have any choice but to eat there unless you go to another town to visit. Likewise, drinks were expensive, most cocktails were around 15€ but I think that was true of most bars in Fira and Oia.

The pool area was lovely, the nicest I've ever been in with kabanas and hammocks dotted around. The pools weren't heated but after being in the hot sun, it was ideal! The hotel also has its own beach area, you just go out the gate and head down a little path and there's a few sunbeds out ready for you. There isn't any sand but it was just relaxing lying there listening to the sound of the waves. The hotel provide beach towels too which was quite handy.

After visiting the main towns, I did realise how much more I preferred staying in the Aurora. It was so much more private and away from the hustle and bustle yet still close enough to enjoy the action. I'd highly recommend it!

We stayed at the Aurora a few days before our wedding in Santorini and we are so pleased we chose this hotel. There were a number of our wedding guests with us and they too couldn't speak highly enough of the Staff and hotel.
The breakfast is delicious, so much to choose from and sets you up nicely for the day.
The rooms are very modern each with your own hot tub. We were put in the honeymoon suite which was amazing!! The pool area is gorgeous, enough sunbeds for everyone and extremely chilled out. The most important thing was the free transfer the hotel provided. This was a great thing to offer as the hotel is slightly off the beaten track but with the amazing George taking us to and from town and to the beach it was made extremely easy. Thank you George! Also want to thank Maria who looked after us all throughout. She couldn't have been more helpful and greeted us with such warmth. We hope to be back for our anniversary next year!

We moved to this Hotel because we had to leave the hotel we had booked with Booking.com ( never again).
They were so helpful and pleasant it was such a relief after our nightmare .
This Hotel is only 2 years old and it feels even newer.
We were able to relax by the pool and enjoy the amenities the pool bar and the lovely good quality food.
They have their own beach and amazingly perfectly polite , helpful conscientious staff.
The room was comfortable , clean and peaceful with all mod cons.
The Hotel restaurant served exceptionally good food.
They put on free Hotel transfers for the clientele it was such a help all the staff couldn't do enough for you .
Would recommend Aurora to anybody this area is becoming a perfect place for the quieter side of the Island.
Thank you to all the staff for making our stay perfect.
