Bellair has amazing views, very relaxing and calm lodging. The apartments might not be new but enough for a stay on the island. The owner will make everything possible to make sure you enjoy your stay and she is very helpful. You will need a car to go to the beach and around the island as the place is on a hill.

I wasn't supposed to be staying at Bellair, but Panorama were fully booked (thank goodness!) I was so lucky to have the best room I've ever stayed in. Amazing views with a huge balcony to enjoy them on. The room was huge with lots of storage and also enough room in living room to become beds for kids. The kitchen area was well stocked and clean as was the bathroom. The room was also cleaned beautifully every day.

Facilities: The pool was cleaned every morning and rarely used by many guests other than me. Pure luxury to have a pool to yourself for an hour. The bar and restaurant were well stocked with everything you could think of. Despite being all-inclusive at my original hotel I often ate and drank at Bellair because the food was delicious and home-grown and home-made and the drinks were better quality with a great service.

Service: Peggy and Romina have no idea how welcome they made me feel. Travelling on your own can often be daunting, but they made me feel part of the family and encouraged me to join them no matter what they were doing. I even had the pleasure of watching traditional Greek dancing (including plate smashing) and they were nice enough to try and teach me the dance :)
Romina is a travel expert, she knows every inch of Crete and the best places to go and how to get there. She will book everything for you too which is fantastic!

My last night there was truly magical sitting with all the other guests having a drink and even seeing my first ever shooting star - amazing!

I have never enjoyed a holiday quite so much! Thank you!

We stayed here from the 7th til the 14th June. We were put here by the Panorama Hotel as they were 'full'. So glad they moved us here as it was so much nicer that the hotel! Our room as all of the rooms had an amazing view of the bays and we got to see the most amazing sunrises and sunsets. The pool was always quiet so it seemed like a private pool just for me and my boyfriend.
I must say that the one thing that is special about this place is the family that run it! Peggy (the owner) made you feel like you were visiting family and gave us loads of free food when ordering drinks (her homemade Dakos is to die for!) They make their own Raki and Olive oil (we brought back 2 bottles as it is amazing!). Romania (Peggy's daughter) makes amazing cakes and gives really good local advice. She even gave us a lift back from Lagaria Beach! She has two lovely children and not to forget the puppy Dolly! Dolly is super friendly and will kiss you until you are soaked!
We will deffinately come back here again but will hire a car next time as it is very hilly. We were blessed with amazing weather and miss the family a lot. Thank you for making our holiday special xxx

It really shouldn't have taken me so long to write this but here we go...
I booked the Bellair Village at the last minute for a 10 day break with my girlfriend. We were not disappointed!
From the second we arrived we were treated like members of the Family - Even when we first arrived at 1am, Peggy was there to greet us and made us some Dakos (a tasty Greek Dish) and homegrown grapes.
The apartments are very spacious, all have AC (5 euro extra), all have hot showers, all have fully-equipped kitchens and all have an amazing view of the beach, the sea and Agia Pelagia itself. I took what I thought was a risk booking somewhere that was not right in the town centre and not right next to the beach- It really paid off!
Bellair village feels far away from the hustle and bustle but near enough if that's what you want.
The pool was lovely - big enough to do lengths and also has the fantastic view. Most days we had the pool to ourselves which was really great.

I had pre-booked breakfast for every morning.. and I'm so glad I did. Bellair grow their own produce and each morning we could come down anytime we wanted..to be greeted with homegrown tomatoes, olives, grapes and cucumbers amongst other things. This, alongside greek cheese, homemade bread, homemade olive oil and homemade jam was truly delicious.
We had intended on eating out in the town in the evenings (and did just one night out of 10) but quickly changed our minds about that! Each evening (at a time we chose) Romina and Peggy made us homemade Cretan dishes that we enjoyed, again with the view.. we tried so many different Cretan dishes - including the best Moussaka I've ever tasted - always served with a traditional homegrown Greek salad and Greek bread. The prices were very reasonable and the portions definately generous - you will NOT be dissatisfied.
Romina also likes to make desserts and each evening gave us a free delicious dessert and Raki - which we thought was so generous.

As for the location: Agia Pelagia and its beach is about a 15 min walk downhill (and 20 mins back uphill) ,this beach is quite crowded and full of deckchairs. As a couple we didn't want that kind of beach so we always went to another nearby beach, Ligaria beach - the same distance away. This beach was gorgeous with crystal-clear water and had some of best snorkelling I've ever seen due to the underwater rocks literally 10 metres into the water!
When we mentioned we were going to Ligaria beach Peggy gave us the key to her 2 Private Sunbeds on the beach which we thought was so nice!
We also wanted to explore the nearby cities - Bellair turned out to be perfect for this as it has a private track which stretches right up to the main highway (10 min walk) where buses take you East to Herakion (then Knossos) or West to Rethymnon or Chania.
The only issue I had was that for the first 3 nights we had a twin-bedded apartment as I'd booked at the last minute - However Peggy swapped us to a double bedded apartment as soon as she could with no hassle at all!

In summary, Bellair has a truly stunning view, spacious & clean apartments, a great pool and a great location with 3 nearby beaches. The multi-lingual family of 3 Generations including Peggy, Romina and Manuela can't do enough to make sure your stay is superb. If you want homegrown food that you'll be remembering fondly (as I am!), great hosts and a truly Cretan experience book Bellair - We'll surely be going back soon!

Room Tip: All rooms have a stunning view!
