“Relaxing”
Reviewed 9 December 2015 for a stay in December 2015

After seeing the casitas on trip advisor I could not resist staying here a few nights. We had stayed several nights on the ocean side of the mountain and it was wonderful but here it was cooler and the river has a magical quality to it. Steve and Rachel were great, answered all my questions before hand in a timely manner and gave good directions. The casita is perfect, 1 room with a small kitchenette and bathroom. Coffee and tea were supplied but anything else you will need to bring. I would suggest bringing ice if you use it. The porch is relaxing, sit and watch the birds, butterflies the beautiful landscaping and listen to the river. Due to an accident I had earlier in the week I did not get to explore the river but it looked accessible and would have been fun to walk to the falls. They are in the process of building a pool which will be a great addition. Here you are 10 minutes to Uvita and 15 minutes to Dominical. There is a beach access 5 minutes away. This is a great location to explore this area. My only regret is I did not get to explore the property more but hope to return.

“Amazing - Love this Place!”
Reviewed 8 December 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Having stayed at Casitas Del Rio recently I can't say enough good things about it. Located on the banks of a beautiful river all the casitas/cabins have stunning views and sitting on your private veranda listening to the sound of the water is amazingly peaceful. My casita was perfectly appointed with a small kitchen and fridge, coffee and tea, wine available for purchase, a really comfy queen sized bed and a large bathroom with a beautiful sink. Attention to detail is second to none and you can easily see the love and care that the owners have put into the property. Everything is tidy, very clean and well maintained.

The owners Rachel and Steve are a wonderful couple from England. They were extremely helpful and professional and gave me information on the area, would booked tours and really made me feel comfortable and at home.

The grounds are beautifully landscaped and full of amazing tropical flowers. There was so much wildlife, I saw a sloth, toucans and monkeys, butterflies and hummingbirds, it was very special.
I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in this area and I am coming back for a visit as soon as I can.

We had such a great time here! The Casita was perfect for my husband and I. Rachel and Steve were very kind and welcoming. We loved the river, and had a beautiful view from our porch. The hike up to the waterfall was a lot of fun. It is also easy to drive into town from their home. We highly recommend staying here! Everything was fantastic, and no disappointments.

“Relaxation off the beaten path!”
Reviewed 12 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

GREAT experience! Rachel and Steve were fantastic hosts with great stories to tell and their recommendations on local restaurants/excursions were spot on. The casitas are definitely off the beaten trail, but it is an oasis worth the drive. It was amazingly relaxing whether it was hiking along the river, watching shows on our tablet at night when it was raining, or reading out on the patio. Uvita and Bahia are the closest towns and great to spend time in. Playa Uvita, the closest beach, is unbelievable. It is a National Park, so it is untouched. Sloths, macaws, dolphins, whales, and an ocean like bath water!

“Relaxing in Natures Paradise”

Just returned from an enjoyable & memorable 3 weeks in Costa Rica where we stayed with Rachel & Steven at the delightful Casitas Del Rio near Uvita.
Casitas Del Rio offers independent, spacious quality accommodation, set in a wonderful landscape overlooking a river & the jungle. Here you will wake up in the morning to the sound of the river, the cries of the howler monkey & to the sights of colourful birds & butterflies. No aircraft, no traffic noise, no music.
The location is ideal for exploring the coastal area ranging from Jaco in the North down to Drakes Bay in the South & surrounding mountains. You are adjacent to the Whales Tail where we enjoyed some fantastic whale watching & you are spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out be it breakfast or evening meal.
At all time Rachel & Steven are on hand to help & assist in making your stay enjoyable.

RECOMMENDED PLACES TO VISIT/THINGS TO DO
Whale Watching - Sept / Oct see the humpback whales with their young
Topolandia - Very interesting
Sierpe Mangrove boat trip - See the cayman & many birds
