I travelled here some years ago but returned with 7 other golfers for three days golf for the triangle offer of 3 courses ( Dungarvon , Goldcoast , West Waterford.) for the princely sum of 69 Euros!!!

What a tremendous 'home from home' Cairbre House is.

It is sited on the banks of a tidal flow river with the scenery changing every tide. The 200 year old early 19th Century ivy covered house is quaint in the extreme.

Dungarvon town centre is a 5 minute walk away - try Minnie's bar

The welcome and service Brian gives his visitors is first class, the breakfasts are unbelievable and the rooms very comfortable. We couldn't fail to be impressed by the breakfast service provided by Kathy - what a lovely lady. What a pity Brian isn't 40 so that we could look forward to visits in the next 20years

Absolutely first class

Lovely room looking out on the river and garden. Location a short stroll from the town and to the start of the new greenway. Host Brian very helpful and facilitating. Breakfast the tastiest i have had in a long time ( Vegetarian omelette... with bacon) Lovely conservatory overlooking the river estuary to sit in, and watch and listen to the wildlife (we saw an otter and heard and saw numerous birds)

Room Tip: All rooms would be quiet. Get a room overlooking the river estuary if possible

We popped in for an overnight, after cycling from Waterford along the Deise Greenway. Brian was a charming host. The house is 200 years old and was a fever hospital during the (?) 1826 Cholera epidemic.
Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious - if a bit overgenerous for cyclists about to head back to Waterford!!

Happy to recommend this place.

Second time staying here. Would have stayed a few more times but booked out. It is not often to come across a B&B with such character, gourmet breakfast, and lovely host and staff. Dungarvan itself has fantastic restaurants and a fabulous greenway cycle path to waterford with friendly stops along the route. XXX

Last minute trip to Dungarvan, Co Waterford.

Cairbre House is a short walk from the town centre. Brian was very welcoming and helpfull. Room was very comfortable, with a lovely view of the water. The breakfast menu is great....lots of options.

The building is very old with wonderful character. Quiet and peaceful.

Very nice..!

Lots of hiking and cycling nearby.... Waterford Greenway just opened. Well worth a visit...
