Clean and excelent service. Big rooms. Well located in the town center and very friendly owners.
Very nice views of the hill. Good homemade breakfast buffet. Also dinners. Easy to recommend, we will come back.

From the wood beamed ceiling to the cozy fireplace, antique armoire, and the fabulous restaurant with an arched window looking over the town, this hotel is wonderful. Late October is a little nippy (heat is regulated to go on in Italy only on November 1!), but the down comforters and extra blankets help. The dining room (and local wine list) is terrific, as is the staff.

Room tip: corner double rooms are larger and extra quiet

The family run hotel was a lovely gem in equally lovely Montalcino. Though the staff were a bit brusque at times, the hotel was clean, quiet and relatively modern (by Tuscan standards!) though the beds were a bit uncomfortable. Located in the heart of the town it is an easy walk to the fort and local restaurants as well as a wonderful gelateria. The breakfast was large and varied with six different kinds of cake as well as local meats and cheeses along more traditional options. Request a room facing the countryside (room 2) as the view was fantastic.

Il Giglio is a lovely family-run hotel in beautiful Montalcino. The rooms on the back side of the hotel have a fabulous view out over the Tuscan landscape. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent and as you would expect has a deep wine cellar. Room 1 has a patio with an incredible view. The included breakfast is extensive and good.

Room tip: Room 1 has a patio with a fabulous view.

Spacious quiet rooms with small bath and shower - more than enough. Room was serviced nicely and daily. The complimentary breakfast was good, and there are three terrific window views looking north from this citidel city. Coffee was excellent. Wifi was reliable and speedy.
