Stayed in room 713 (sea view recommended) for 2 weeks on an all inclusive basis. Room wasn't massive but had almost everything we needed (kettle would have been nice) including a fridge - safe cost of 50 euro was a little expensive. Found food to be varied and consistently good quality. Hired a car from the in house Galaxy car hire 144 euro for 5 days for a small car which was adequate to get all over the island - wouldn't recommend driving through Rhodes town though, really busy and roads narrow, get a taxi 8-10 euros or bus.
Pool bar, restaurant. bar staff and maids are all really friendly and do their very best to make the holiday special, the reception staff at the hotel and spa would benefit from a similar outlook.
Bit windy on the hotels beach and you do need sea shoes as its pebbly, good for windsurfing but not snorkeling, west coast of the island is better for this, Ladiko or Afantou Bay were good.
Its worth venturing out into the nearby resort, only 300 yards to your left, Sebastians bar is a good for sports.

Perfect Stay at the Amathus in Rhodes. I have just returned from a one week trip to Rhodes (Sept 2015) and was fortunate enough to stay at this hotel.

The view from our room was wonderful, I can highly recommend a sea view room.

The food in the restaurant was exceptional at each meal. We didn't make Breakfast every day, however lunch is served by the pool and then snacks throughout the afternoon, so you won't go hungry. We went to dinner in the main room each evening and there was so much choice, you couldn't complain. There is something there for everyone and the quality of the food was amazing.

The service in the main bar in the evening was excellent. Stamatis ran the bar each evening and managed to serve everyone with a smile and was always professional. There was one evening where the bar was the busiest I had ever seen it, and Stamatis had everything under control and remained calm and collected - a true professional ! He works well with his team of ladies who offer table service and are always polite.

There are many sunbeds at this time of year, so there isn't any hassle in finding somewhere to settle down for the day. The Pool bar service in the day was very good with the team always serving with a smile.

Check in/check out was clear and concise - no hidden extras on the bill, check out was so simple and the reception team very helpful.

I cannot wait to return again in 2016.

Stayed: September 2015
Thank Rob M

We have recently returned from a 7 day holiday at the Amathus Beach and although the hotel was pleasant it is NOT a 5* by any means. As previous reviews have mentioned most of the staff are extremely courteous, friendly and efficient with the exception of the Reception staff who were abrupt and unhelpful.
We were celebrating an anniversary and were delighted to find a bottle of sparkling wine and basket of fruit in our room when we checked in - but the room was tired and very basic and the bathroom was really small and in desperate need of updating. The towels were replaced daily (as you would expect in a hotel of this calibre) but the shower cap and tiny bars of soap were not replenished when used up.
The pools were lovely and clean, the drinks and snack service was excellent, we mainly used the adult pool if we managed to get sunbeds there but however early we arrived all the comfortable wooden sunbeds at both pools had towels on them.
We were on half board but were not advised that if we chose to have continental breakfast in our room this was not included - we only found that out two days before we left! We only ate in the hotel on two nights so we felt we had wasted money upgrading to half board. However the food in the 10th Floor Restaurant was very good, especially on the Greek evening, and the staff there were brilliant.
We enjoyed our holiday, the weather was great and we loved the island of Rhodes, but the Amathus Beach did not quite meet our expectations.

Room Tip: Try to get a room which has been refurbished - with a sea view and a reasonably sized bathroom - or upgrade to a bungalow or a suite.

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to this hotel, its lovely when the staff reconise you its like going home, seeing familiar faces who are pleased to see you again. We stayed in a bungalow this time and they were very roomy & comfortable with a great sea view. The food was of high quality as it was on our previous visits, a good choice of drinks on the all inclusive package, we often used to take a bottle of wine up to our room and sit on the balcony for a night cap, this is the only all inclusive hotel we have been allowed to do this. The staff are amazing in the dining room maria, dimitria are a bonus to this hotel, they really are very welcoming & look after you, and they were so pleased to see us again. We used the roof pool, again the staff were lovely, antonis the resturant manager remembered us too and made us feel very welcome, The pool girl who came & took your drinks order was very nice, cant remember her name, but she had dark hair, sophia who served on a night time & sevi were very nice, they couldnt do enough for you and always had a smile, even when the hotel got busy due to the airport being closed for a day. All the staff were very pleasant there a credit to this hotel, our room was cleaned daily to a good standard with fresh towels every day & clean sheets on our bed. We didnt use the downstairs pool very much as it was quite busy, but we did use the adult only pool a few times, which again the service was good.We cant fault this hotel the reception staff were very helpfull & pleasant. We will definately be back next year!

Room Tip: Bungalows are very spacious
