My wife and I have stayed in several coastal Starwood hotels; Limassol Cyprus, St Julians Malta, Barcelona and El Vendrell in Spain, Split in Croatia and Lisbon and Porto in Portugal and the Sheraton Rhodes Resort is as good as any of them.  Indeed, in many areas, it surpasses some of these establishments.

The staff are very, very friendly and efficient.  The facilities for adults and children are outstanding.  The beach and poolside are spotless and the facilities, at each, are excellent.  Organised sports and leisure activities are brilliant.  According to my wife, the spa is first class and she is booked to return for a further treatment shortly.  We cannot fault our room or the quality of service it receives.

We have taken breakfast, at Castellania, on almost every day and we have been very impressed by quality, quantity and service.  We have sampled the Italian restaurant, L'Onda, and, it was superb food and excellent service.  Gluten-free diets pose no obstacle to this hotel.

It is extremely difficult to find any small fault with this hotel at all.  We have already been here one week and I would be very surprised if we will find any weakness in our last four days.  This is a great hotel, particularly for a holiday, and Rhodes is a wonderful island.

Two tips for visitors: become a Starwood Preferred Guest member before arrival, and if you stay here and intend to use the public bus service to Rhodes, turn left outside the hotel, walk away from Rhodes to two bus stops closer to Ialyssos.  With luck, you should be able to get on a bus before it reaches capacity!

All the staff are fabulous very helpful and very friendly
One of the waitresses sorry didn't get her name was so helpful she went out of her way to obtain a chocolate dessert for my daughter - thank you
The outside grey colour of the hotel makes it a little dull to look at especially when sunbathing at the 6th floor pool although the pool was lovely!!
The sun lounge mattresses do not stay on the sun beds !! They slide off all the time which is very annoying.
The supermarket is very good and you can put your own things in the room fridge which is great.
The rooms were very large with very comfortable beds and the sea view from the spacious balcony was excellent.
Taxis from the hotel to the town about 10 euros each way very efficient and clean
The old and new town were great to explore.
My main disappointment with the hotel was food, although plentiful it was a bit boring. The breakfast was good. All the bread I tried seemed like it was yesterday's - very dry
The food wasn't bad just unappetising which for a 5 star hotel disappointing.
Cocktails were excellent although 9 euros.
There are not enough lifts in the hotel for the amount of people using - we chose to use the stairs a lot. In all we had a lovely holiday but I feel although we would return to Rhodes probably not to this hotel.
The airport was excellent very quickly through security so much better than Corfu !!

Room Tip: Great view from 1287

I stayed at the Sheraton Rhodes resort for 10 days in late July and have to say that this was an excellent introduction to Greece for me.

Hotel was a nice surprise, good sized clean rooms, excellent pool areas, and a fantastic outside bar area to watch a nightly sunset over the sea.

I would recommend visiting the Sixt rental company office located in the main reception. We hired an Audi A3 convertible and toured as much of the Island as we could. Special mention to Lindos and the accompanying St Paul's Bay.

We didn't eat in the hotel but strolled down the main road towards Ixia where there are many different choices. Big fan of a Gyros so the Greek restaurants get my nod.

I'll definitely be heading back to a Greek island and I would not rule out a return to this resort.

We stayed here at the end of August for 11 nights. On first arrival reception staff seemed to be friendly and attentive. We had booked a deluxe seav view room but I couldn't help noticing throughout my holiday that most rooms had a sea view apart from the very few on the ground floor so wondered whether it was worth the extra cost I'd paid for the upgraded room. Room was ok, had everything needed, although a little dated in places and shower wasn't the best and leaked out the side of the bath. The air con worked great though and was very welcome after a day round the beach or pool. Breakfast and dinner was just ok. Some nights were better than others. We ideally wanted to sit outside every mornign and night but the wasps became an issue and we resorted to eating in. Food got a bit boring so for the last 5 nights we got our credit back for dinner (only 10 euros per adult and 5 per child) spent it at lunch and went into Rhodes town for the evening. Taxi was 12 euros there and 9 back. Extra 3 euros for booking from hotel but came within a couple of minutes every time.
Apart from the reception staff, everyone was very friendly, especially the cleaning ladies on our floor (4), the animation team (Anna, Steve and Sebastian), they were excellent and worked very hard. My son loved joining in the activities and they made everyone feel welcome. And a big thank you to Mikalis at the pool bar. Nothing was too much trouble and always had a smile on his face.
During the holiday there were a number of occasions where we had to go to reception, and I must say the staff here seemed miserable and unfriendly. Seemed like they didn't want to help.
The lifts were a pain with so much use and people with buggies, plus one wasn't working for half the holiday! And there were only 3.
I would have thought in a 5 star hotel the coffee making facilities in the room would be better (a small kettle and instant).
Expensive drinks but we were expecting that, just maybe not as expensive as that!!! But your water from the supermarket and store it in your fridge in the room.
All in all a good holiday with good facilities. Pools were excellent, and everywhere was clean, just can't give it 5 stars because of the negatives above.
