A customer orientated hotel. We were given a room upgrade. The view is breathtaking. The hotel is in a quiet area, just a 15 min walk from Fira,a 10 min walk from a bus station for Oia.Just around the corner a good selection of restaurants and tavernas. The rooms are spacious and as you heard in previous reviews the pool is actually a big tub,but you dont really care, cos the view compensates you 110%.We would definitely be back !

Stayed 4 nights at the Ira Hotel in October. The hotel is high up on the cliff with not too many steps. Had a caldera view room with a large balcony. The room was excellent and the view breathtaking. Good breakfasts. Free pickup from the ferry terminal and transfer to the airport at the end of our stay was greatly appreciated. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The location at Firostefani was ideal. Being about a 15 minute walk into Thira meant we were away from the hordes of day visitors to Santorini coming off the cruise ships, but close enough to all the Thira facilities. Plenty of good restaurants close by. Particularly liked Mama Thira restaurant nearby, with magnificent views of the sunset over the caldera. Great walk from Firostefani along the cliff path to Oia. Visited black beaches at Kamari and Perissa using public buses. The Ira Hotel and Santorini are spectacular. Very highly recommended.

I didn't know what to expect and when we arrived in Santorini...Manny was so accomodating...then when we checked in the lovely "Sunday" (I can't spell her name in Greek) was wwonderful...They made our stay so enjoyable with no worries. We had breakfast included too. Their spread by Floidita was so yummy and I miss them today. Please stay here. The staff makes the stay in Santorini amazing!

We stayed 5 nights in the Ira Hotel in early September and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautifully maintained and immaculate, with pots of red geraniums scattered througout the paved areas. The hotel overlooks the caldera and we had a fabulous view from our room Dionysus which was just outside the pool. I would highly recommend this room for the privacy and quiet. It is probably one of the smaller rooms (but very comfortable) , and we could see across the pool out to the caldera from our bed. We had a table and chairs to sit outside that was sheltered so you could get out of the sun and enjoy the views and as the other guests tended not to hang around later in the afternoon, we generally had the pool area to ourselves (also early morning). The mini bar fridge had some small bottles of Greek wine and beer that you can enjoy on your balcony and watch the sunset. The views were spectacular day and night.

The hosts Manny & Kiki were very friendly and always available to assist with directions and ideas about places to go. The breakfast was good, mainly continental choices with one hot dish. You could have a cappucino with your breakfast which was nice as generally you wouldn't expect that. The staff were really friendly too so the whole vibe was warm and welcoming.

There is a spacious lounge area with big views of the caldera and two computers that you can use free of charge.

The location was perfect for us. There are some really good cafes and restaurants just a short walk along the cliff (say a 2-3 minute stroll). The Italian restaurant is highly recommended and Mama Thira is a must for the Greek experience, tasty, fresh food, great service and panoramic views. We also had waffles, coffee, light meals and cocktails etc., at Mylos, they have free WiFi, magazines and 180 degree caldera views - also highly recommended.

There is a mini market in the same area for newspapers, snacks and toiletries (the hotel supplies the usual toiletries). The walk along the cliff face to Fira was very pleasant and took around 15 minutes. The views along the cliff walk are really spectacular, partularly at night with all the lights and moonlight on the water. I was glad to stay in Firastefani rather than Fira as I thought Fira was a bit too touristy, nice to visit but good to get away from the crowds particularly when the cruise ships arrive, literally thousands of people crowding Fira's shops.

Another plus for the Ira Hotel is that there is a car park on the street level and a scooter/quad hire across the road. We hired a quad for the five days and were able to park right outside our hotel.

Our hosts arranged free transport to the port on our departure day, saving us having to ask them, which added to the personalised service experience.

If I went back to Santorini I would go back to the Hotel Ira and am happy to recommend it. It was a great place to chill out after a hectic week in Mykonos.

Room Tip: I would recommend booking direct with the hotel hosts and asking them about the most private rooms...

We switched hotels due to unexpected change in plans and were so satisfied with Hotel Ira. The staff couldn't be more attentive. Great caldera view and of Fira. Small walk to town, but not bad.
