We were staying one night in Dornbirn and picked this place off TA. When we arrived the first person couldn't really speak English, but quickly got someone who appeared to be the owner/chef to come out. We didn't even get a chance to look at the menu - he explained the day's specials, asked what sort of food we liked and then proceeded to recommend various dishes for our party of 5. His recommendations sounded sensible so we left ourselves in his hands and let him craft our meal. Normally I'd be nervous about doing that but the numerous positive reviews on TA encouraged me to say ok. It was a good call - everything we had, including soups, mussels as a starter, bruschetta, grilled seafood and truffle pasta...was excellent. We also had to 2 bottles of wine and enjoyed them both. Since we didn't even see the menu, our group of 5 was trying to guess what the total bill would amount to - our lowest guess was still 15% too high! It was certainly one of the best meals of our 2-week trip through Europe (including Italy!), and where I've had better Italian meals they typically cost much more.
