This was the 3rd & final hotel of my Costa Rica trip. Our first impression was over the top (in a good way), as they gave us cold facecloths for our necks as we checked in, and a cold drink. They gave us a nice quick tour of the grounds and our room, which was a very unique room. Everything about the room had a lot of detail spent on it. The outdoor shower and bathroom were intimidating at first, but were fine. The bug netting all around the bed definitely gave me peace of mind of not being eaten by mosquitoes. The private beach area was nice, and there were howler monkeys right in the trees all over the place, as well as different birds (I don't know what kind, but they were colorful). The room was exactly like in the pictures online, unlike some of the places I've stayed, and were actually nicer in person. They come in the room around sunset and put all the romantic lights on and it was like a honeymoon. I was very impressed with the stay, especially since it was expensive, and it was worth every penny. I'd recommend staying here, even if it's just for 1 or 2 nights out of the trip like we did; I'll never forget this place.

Thanks for choosing to stay at Latitude 10, crash6711 - we’re glad your trip ended on a high and you loved our unique rooms! Our open air concept can take a little getting used to at first but as you experienced, it’s really something magical, unforgettable even. We hope you managed to get a good fix of nature and beachfront relaxation here with us and have returned home feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and loved up. Pura vida!

Hey husband and I happened to book latitude 10 on a whim. We had not done too much research but fell in love with the Santa Teresa area for our honeymoon. I cannot say enough great things about this resort. There is such a homey atmosphere. All employees are wonderful and caring. The food was the best we had all trip and the views were amazing. We took yoga classes, cooking classes- all at no cost. They helped arrange excursions as well. We would come back in a heartbeat. I suggest staying in a casita over the guest room as well!

Room tip: Request a casita, very beautiful. The guest room is nothing too fancy.

Ah, spontaneous decisions are always the best ones, aren’t they, vanrossemk! We’re glad your instincts brought you to Santa Teresa and Latitude 10 and it’s great to hear you had a wonderful honeymoon experience. From all of us here, we’re honoured to have hosted your romantic trip! With only 5 casitas at our beachfront resort, we do think of ourselves as a kind of “home away home” and it’s lovely that you felt those vibes too! Come back soon to see your Santa Teresa family :)

For our 20 wedding anniversary trip, my wife and I were looking for something truly special (we’ve been around the world a bit so we generally expect a lot). We loved this small resort , it’s completely unique as a group of “casitas” or stand alone open air villas surrounding a cathedral ceilings central bar restaurant pool area right on the beach with a great view of the ocean. The grounds are maintained well, yet organic. The pool is clean and sits less than 50 meters from the beach. Most importantly the staff (Managed by Cayuga, a sustainable hotel group) were wonderful, attentive , and personable.

The food was generally excellent, with gorgeous presentation and variety (mostly extremely fresh fish, local fruits and vegetables). The location between Playa Hermosa and Santa Theresa Beach is excellent, and the choices of restaurants nearby is great.

Ask for Bob’s casita , it was originally a family compound and that casita was the owners “bedroom”. The property is built with love, for a very large family.

From the owner (Bob) to the Cayuga staff (Jennifer, Laura, Daniel, Douglas, Maria), we received the highest level of hospitality and a welcoming feeling we never felt before.

Beautiful ocean front property in a santa Teresa. Nice staff, great food and beautiful rooms on a gorgeous stretch of beach. Romantic and understated. Important note - rooms are open and not air conditioned and there is limited Yoga. Latitude 10 is super mellow and better for relaxing and reading, there are other nearby properties that are better suited if you want more activities onsite - like yoga and surfing.

Room tip: You will sleep under a mosquito net, no AC and an open air bathroom. It is really nice, but be prepared as it is a very humid environment.

Latitude is a secluded and peaceful beach boutique hotel. With only a few rooms it feels like a little private oasis. The staff is extremely attentive, friendly, and informative. The rooms are completely open which allows you to enjoy the sounds of the ocean and jungle. We looked forward to eating there for almost every meal since everything was so fresh and delicious. A perfect stay!
