The building is quite distinctive and easy to find. The staff are helpful I seem to remember it closes for lunch. I'm not sure but think it is closed one day a week (Monday?)
Much of the material is old stoneware/ceramic pots and ornaments, obviously very old and labelled in Mandarin and English.
There is a children's playground and scientific exhibits.
I particularly enjoyed the dioramas of ancient Weifang. As well, at the time I visited, there was a comprehensive exhibition by a contemporary Taiwanese artist on the second floor. Maybe the museum is a little short on the seriously stunning
