We saw all three caves (Ruakuri, Glowworms and Aranui). The other two were entirely amazing. But this one had lots of broken formations (due to the actions of previous explorers) and subsequently, everything was behind these fairly ugly gates. There wasn't anything in this cave you wouldn't see in other two, so if I were going to see the Waitomo Caves, I'd get the double pass for the Glowworms and Ruakuri and give this one a miss. It's an extremely short tour, but doesn't cost any less than the Glowworms.

Had a great tour guide and loved the meander through the cave. The staff are so brilliant, cave exceptional and experience overall including lunch, seamless. Thank you so very much and CJ is such a credit to the company. Rae and Jack (Mother and son 12 years old)

Well worth doing, so different to the other caves at Waitomo, the stalagmites and stalactites here are such unique shapes. Easily walking distance to cave entrance (but slightly uphill). Good paths/ramps inside the cave. You need to book in advance and drive to this cave yourself, only 5 minutes from Waitomo Glowworm Cave. Camera with flash allowed. This cave does not have glow-worms, but some friendly weta's :)

Evelyn our guide was fantastic. There were far fewer people on this tour making it wonderful to see everything without being cramped in a large group. Even our young children of 5 and 6 really marvelled at the incredible features of this cave. We all preferred this over the glow worms.
