Our visit was to celebrate my friend's 50th birthday. We love to walk and so chose Gregynog Hall as it had lovely grounds with a selection of walks. It did not disappoint. The staff were lovely and made a real effort to make my friend's birthday memorable. The hall is beautiful and our rooms were situated around the courtyard, really warm, just what was needed after a cold snowy walk. We will definitely go back!

We stayed here overnight. Arrived in heavy snow and were disappointed to discover that the evening meal we had been expecting was not going to be forthcoming, due to a mix up. The poor weather made us reluctant to drive further afield for dinner, and come back in the dark. The management were amazingly helpful and accommodating, arranging for Nick (Head Chef) to drive us to another venue for a complimentary dinner, and to collect us and return us to Gregynog. They all really went the extra mile - and in Nick's case, several extra miles!
We stayed in two of the courtyard rooms, which were very clean, warm and cosy. The breakfast, which we ate in the main Hall, was excellent, and the service was faultless. Would highly recommend Gregynog for a short break - the grounds are extensive and interesting, with way marked paths and lots of opportunities for enjoying all that they have to offer. Thanks to all the staff!

Room Tip: Loved the courtyard rooms

A lovely evening at Gregynog enjoying a most enjoyable luxury buffet that had been given a lot of thought! Great fun was had playing on the casino tables with the chips that were included in the ticket price, along with the disco entertainment until 1a.m. Ideal for groups or couples alike, do snap up tickets for one of these events if you get the chance.

Room Tip: We did not stay overnight.

Firstly can i say the staff where extremely nice and the breakfast was piping hot presented nicely and was delicious ! And for this alone we would come back- BUT we found it strange that there was no one to meet and greet ( even though this was explained to us ) we expected a double room ( a double room was booked ) and not a twin room ,as we got! The telly was antiquated and needed to be tuned in !! Which took us a while ( instructions book was provided ) nonetheless the room was lovely ,warm and clean with lovely fresh white linen .

Dear Fiona J

Thank you for your review and score. I am so pleased to see you found our staff helpful and you enjoyed the breakfast. I will pass on your kind comments to the staff.

I am very sorry to learn that you were allocated a twin room rather than a double as booked/requested.

Although unfortunately there was no one present for check-in, we do always have someone available if you have any problems. I hope you found instructions in your welcome pack as to how to contact a Duty Manager if needed.

With regard to the television we are aware that they are in fact outdated! Hence the unfortunate need for instructions! We are looking to refurbish bedrooms in the near future and therefore update the televisions.

Thank you again for your lovely comments and your constructive comments. We always take on board what our customers say and we strive to improve our service. We are looking at ways to improve the check-in service we offer and hope to improve on this in the near future.

We returned to the garden cafe following a disappointing visit in August. We were delighted to find that they were back on top form!! Excellent food freshly prepared, very friendly but not overpowering service. The chef personally explained they had a blip during our last visit. This place is back on our list!!
