“Beautiful cottage in village square, ideal location for exploring”
Reviewed 16 March 2018 for a stay in December 2017

Highly recommend Awelon Cottage. This is our second time staying here, with a group of friends for a birthday. Ideal location in village square with 2 pubs, a restaurant (highly recommend) and a Spar. Just 15 minute walk into the main town of Porthmadog filled with cafes, restaurants and home/craft type shops.
Diana, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful when we were planning our visit; she recomended places to eat and walks to go on - the cosatal walk from Borth-y-Gest was a particular highlight.
Ideally located for exploring this stunning peninsula, with the convenience of having a shop and a few places to eat literally a minutes walk from the house. Parking space outside the house was also very convenient.

“Fantastic location, loads to do on your doorstep”
Reviewed 28 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

This holiday home is in a great location. It is in a small village with two pubs within 100m, a beautiful restaurant and a chip shop (also very good). There is a local shop also in the same square for any top up shopping required.
Porthmadog is a 15 min/20 min walk away or a very quick drive.
There is a local swimming pool, vintage railway, golf courses and beautiful walks all within a short distance from the property.
The property itself is very accommodating and large!
It has lots of lovely little features such as a real fire, games for the kids, lots of downstairs living space so you don't feel on top of each other. Plenty of TVs!
The beds are of a great quality for a good nights sleep after a long day exploring.
The Kitchen is well equipped roar all meal types.
All in all a great holiday home. We loved it!

“Charming cottage, very roomy and well placed.”

A nice place, but spoiled by little niggles. Light not working in downstairs toilet, although flagged by previous guests. First floor bathroom handle loose so that it's difficult (V.ERY difficult) to release the lock. Loft bedroom has the TV aerial with an 'F' type connector, but does not fit the TV, so cannot watch TV. There is no light over the kitchen sink so you are always working in your own shadow. Lots of info on things and places to go, but no map showing where Tesco /.Aldi / Lidl were.If the niggles were sorted, I would happily recommend it. Deliberately did not comment in Visitor book.
