We booked a room for one night at very short notice for Manx GP week, wasn't really expecting that much but was pleasantly surprised. For £95 we had a really large, double-aspect room (number 27) with great inland views. Very comfortable bed, with new foam mattress. Decor/furniture a bit dated but clean and everything we needed (2 chairs, desk, wardrobe, table with good tea, coffee & biscuits). Good car park.
Only downside was the number of stairs, also one of the double-glazing units was blown. We ate in the restaurant, ok, nothing to write home about but cheap enough.
Fantastic breakfast (included) served in very grand, if dilapidated, Victorian ballroom.
Hats off to the owners keeping the place going, a building like this must be a real liability to maintain!
Would happily stay again. More
