An unpretentious beerhouse, with the best food. The “asinhas de frango” (chicken wings) are wonderful. The beer is particularly good. Ask for the Especial (Melo Abreu) draft.

The first impression wasn't too bad, even though there was almost no people inside. After being served, it was obvious, why this is one of the numerous restaurants in São Miguel, which probably never will be crowded for lunch.
The food was totally uninspired, tasteless and too expensive. A snack bar could be allowed to serve food like that for little (!) money, but charging restaurant prices and serving meals without giving them flavour with spices, herbs, a pinch of wine/port/brandy/cream/butter or whatever or using deep-frozen industrial pellets for a € 7,50-Burger (20 m from the next butchery!) is unapologetic. And, btw. even the servings are not big.

Best location for a restaurant where is located right in front of main church in which often have festival, we were there for dinner on a festival evening, service girl seemed as a temporally hired , no pre-training . she forgot 2 times to bring us fork & knives when brought us food in outside terrace , forgot to take order for my main course, vegetable soup of my husband was sour (she cancelled this price later), my sword fish was too wet/humid with strange & not fresh taste, the girl kept on talking with colleagues during whole evening, finally she forgot to make invoice after we paid, though we reminded her in advance. Price for an ordinary plate here is over than its value/quality, by all means, we did not see why the price is higher than any other bar/restaurant's. The cashier was very unhappy for us to make her issue invoice, not worth to return there anymore! Pity for its location.

I came here with medium-high expectations, but the dish came short.
I found the meat a little hard, it might be just my opinion, but I was not satisfied with the service.

This small cafe has a large range of menu items for a reasomable cost. The server was helpful (and spoke perfect English, good for me, a non-Portuguese speaker). It isn’t fancy food but is delicious. I had ox tail stew amd my husband had a regional steak, a sort of bifteck. Accompanied by a Pico Island wine. The acoustics were pretty loud with animatd conversations going on. We will probably go nack tomorrow!
