Being in Azores for the first time we have followed the sugestion of a local regarding restaurants and experiences to try.
Regarding fish, this restaurant was fully recommended. Not being at the most touristic part of the island is a plus.
We have tried fish fillet and it was delicious.
Good local food, spectacular sunset view from balcony and affordable prices.

Excellent food. The fish is fresh and very well grilled. Of the best places to eat fish.
For dessert you have to try the "queijada de leite", a better that I have eaten in a lifetime!

The grilled fish was absolutely wonderful – not over cooked and served beautifully with salad bread potatoes of two types. Suggest that it sould be paired with a green wine, like Gazela.

Tricky to find--follow signs for Monte Verde beach and the restaurant is on your right almost immediately around the first corner. Enter by the right hand door as the left goes into the bar. You will see a glass case with fresh fish on ice, and the cook will help you select your fish. You will then head upstairs to be seated in a very fine restaurant with good views. The service was excellent, the food was more than plentiful, the ambiance very relaxing. Typically for the region, their are bread and cheese starters, then plenty of potatoes, veg and salad to accompany the fish--which was absolutely superbly grilled. Quite a number of locals were there by the time we left, so the place is well known and loved, and for good reason.
