We had a lovely 2 night stay here. Our room on the piano nobile was more of a suite, with a separate small room with a sofa bed, as well as a nice bathroom and seating in the main room. Tall windows looked out over the little square (where dinner was also served) and our room was light and airy. The painted beamed ceiling was a wonderful feature. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean.
Breakfast was very varied- probably the best we had out of 5 hotels we visited in Umbria. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinner was also very nice.
This is a lovely hotel in the centre of Trevi, a lovely town to wander around and spend a couple of days. The hotel was a good base - we had a really nice stay here.

Lovely spacious room with impressive furnishings. Very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was a very impressive offering - one of the best selections I have seen. Just sorry I could not do justice to it as we had quite a few miles to walk that day to our next destination.

The above choir (40 members) have just returned to Dublin having spent 5 days in beautiful Italy. Our main event was singing at a Mass in St Peter's Basilica in Rome, truly memorable and inspiring. Leaving Rome after two days which included an opera La Boheme and feeling very happy that the highlight was over!
How wrong were we, nothing could prepare you for the magnificent hilltop town of Trevi in Umbria. The beauty of this area and this gorgeous little village has to be seen to be believed. We were met off the coach by the friendly staff from Hotel Alla Rocca and taken to this fairytale hotel. We were all handed our keys to our accommodation very efficiently and shortly the windows flung open from all sides with cheers of delight. We had landed in Paradise, no exaggeration. Over the next three days, we were wined and dined to the highest of standards. Some of the courses were of Michelin Star standard. We visited Assisi, Montefalco and two wineries. Our farewell night was spectacular with a surprise musical act, we danced and sang till the late hours. A holiday that can never be repeated, it was out of this World. Míle buíochas.

Room was clean and airy. We enjoyed dinner in the square in front of the hotel. Great food and good prices. Such a pretty town! Breakfast was better than most we had in |Italy...eggs were included...not just pastries.

The "hotel" includes at least three separate buildings, each of which is included in the self-guided walking tour of this hilltop town and described as "palaces" but better translates into English as a stately home. The service is superb, our suite was a collection of large rooms, and the location is in the middle of the town, just above the main square and in the middle of the many ancient buildings.

Besides our bedroom, more of that later, the outstanding feature was dinner. On each of our two evenings there were tour parties and there was a set menu of four courses. These were each described in detail, were of excellent quality and efficiently served in spite of the large number of diners. Dinner was served on the terrace, but we had breakfast in the indoor dining room. This was a continental breakfast but with some hot dishes as well.

Our room was in an adjacent building, the Petroni Palace (Number 24 on the town's walking tour) on the second floor. This was a XV Century building, substantially built with very high ceilings. Thus, although our room was only on the second floor, to get there involved climbing nine half landings. The climb was worth it as the views from both the bedroom as well as from the very comfortable glass walled communal sitting area was spectacular. Our suite comprised two double bedrooms and a large sitting/kitchen area. This was far in excess of our requirements, but everything in the hotel seemed large! The public rooms on the first floor are definitely worth a visit, with one having a magnificent ceiling. In spite of thickness of the walls, both the (free) wifi and mobile signals worked excellently.

A separate Palace of the hotel has a small pool, although too small for swimming is a pleasant area for relaxation.

The only minor irritation is the noise of the portable air conditioning, though we simply turned it off and given the thickness of the walls the temperature stayed cool throughout our two day stay.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, and even gave us a lift to where we wished to start walking from on our day of departure.

Room tip: Those disabled or unfit should check on the accessibility of their room.
