The title says it all... he who eats on the beaten path must realize the cuisine will not last. This restaurant is off the beaten path. It’s only frequented by Italians, and for good reason. To call if “formidable,” is an understatement. Between the friendliness of the staff and the incomprehensible deliciousness of the food; I would venture to say it’s worth a dedicated visit. Take the bus from Sorrento to Amalfi (or vice versus) and get off at the Coli San Pietro. Inside you will be greeted by Miguel or the owner himself (Sam). Dishes are traditional and done is pure Sorrentino style with pesce (fish) galore. Perhaps the most well known and sought after dish is the linguine in foil. It literally comes in foil, and once opened, the smells of intoxicatingly great seafood waft through the air. Langostines, calamari, prawns, mussels and clams compile a delicacy on top of a perfectly cooked noodle. The wine selection is beyond fantastic as well; and make sure to try the zucchini flowers and arancini for an appetizer. The veggies are actually homegrown and the bread freshly made in house. A true delight and worth a dedicated visit.
