Stayed here for a few day in July 2012, and generally very happy with what we got.

Our room had an excellent sea view, on a clear day you can see Stromboli in the far distance. Bedroom was simple, but a good size with an attractively patterned tile floor. On that subject, some of the other reviews on here are a bit sniffy about the old-fashioned and "tired" decor; I wouldn't take those too seriously - yes the decor is a bit quirkely 1970s, but it's actually rather fun and adds to the charm of the place (minimalist, it is not).

Didn't try the restaurant in the evening. Breakfast was limited, but functional.

Little English spoken, but our erratic Italian got us through perfectly well. Staff were all friendly.

It's a bit of walk - c25 minutes - into the old town, but 22 minutes of that is right along the sea front, with little traffic, so that was fine by us.

The hotel swimming pool is excellent. Their terrace overlooking the sea, on the other side of the road, is a great place to while away the afternoon, with beautiful views, though with a slight air of neglect as if it had been abandoned a few months earlier. The beach below was one minute's walk down some steps and almost empty when we were there.

The great mystery of the place is that it was virtually empty when we were there, which meant we had the terrace, beach, swimming pool etc largely to ourselves; not that we were complaining.

To sum up, if you want a comfortable and quiet place to stay in Diamante you'll do perfectly well here.

Dear Cracked Actor,

thank you for the great words of your text, expecially because you are an "expert reviewer", so your compliments make us more than happy.
You analyse many things that other people doesn't considering, like our ceramic tiles floor hand painted of Vietri, really a must of The Made in Italy, that everyone knows all over the world.
We hope, in your next holidays here at Ferretti Hotel, you try the evening restaurant, another source of pride of our structure.
We regret not having been able to suggest the shortest route to go in the center of Diamante in only 10 minuts, on the promenade.

Let me to explain the real mistery you talk about in your text. The italian politic wants the tax from the italian population expecially in June and July and this thing give at every italian great concern, expecially for a holiday. Everyone thinks many times if is the best thing go to holiday, infact many, many people wait the month of August to go in vacation.
Unfortunatly this is the situation in Italy. But we try everytime to give all our services at the best everytime.

We wait you the next year, we will so happy to see you again!

Thanks for all!
Best wishes.

I recently stayed in this wonderful and beautiful resort hotel. Diamonte, Italy is not a foreign tourist attraction but the service and location was ideal. The beach was crystal clear, the chairs and umbrellas included in the price. The huge swimming pool was wonderfully maintained and the food was delicious. If you want a true Italian vacation experience this is it. Very little english spoken -EJV- July ,2011

2 years ago we stayed in Hotel Ferretti and we were so overwhelmed of the Hotel, the owners and the staff that we decided to spen our this years holidays in Hotel Ferretti again.
Everything is just perfect , the very kind and helpfull staff , the service and the food . There is nothing to point your fingers at. Hotel Ferretti is the first Hotel in our life where we don´t feel like tourists but like members of the family. We feel at home. Every wish was complieded. The room was very modern with a spa bath and beautiful tiles on the floor and in the bathroom also on the walls. There is a fridge in the room for free use and there are also bicycles for free use. We are looking forward for our next years holidays at Hotel Ferretti but then together with our friends and family. Friends from Hamburg, Germany
