“Great base for Joondalup and Perth City”
Reviewed 21 September 2014 for a stay in June 2014

I stayed at Bright skies in June 2014 as a new migrant while I looked for more long term accomodation. As I needed to be in the Joondalup area of Perth the location was ideal. Connolly being 10 mins walk from the Joondalup train station which is situated in the Lakeside shopping centre. The train system links you to the rest of Perth.
Kim is a great host and very helpful with any questions about Perth or Australia in general.
I stayed at Bright skies on my own while waiting for the rest of my family to arrive but the room and facilities would be more than suitable for a travelling couple.
Kim provided all the things needed for comfortable self catering stay along with the use of washing and kitchen facilities.
I would certainly recommend Bright skies for anyone wishing to stay in North Perth as either tourist or commuter.

“Comfortable and Private”

We stayed with Kim at Bright Skies during the month of March for 16 days. We have a lovely big room with private use of a bathroom and toilet. The kitchen lounge and garden was shared access.
Kim is a great host, very friendly and helpful and was there if we needed her advise or recommendations but also gave us loads of privacy as well
I would not hesitate to stay with Kim if ever we visit Perth again and we willdefinately be making a beeline for the Kangeroo Arms English Pub which is within walking distance and serves great food and of course a very nice wine or too!
Thank you Kim for helping to make our visit to see our daughter so delightful xxx

“First Class Temporary Holiday rental”

Myself and partner Chelsea booked to stay at Bright Skies for 2 weeks due to emigrating to WA. We wanted somewhere that was close to Joondalup and was reasonably priced whilst we settled and looked for a longer term accommodation of our own. Upon booking the owner Kim emailed and introduced herself which was a really nice thing to do. Kim kept in contact until our arrival and was helpful with things such as sending over Google Maps of how to get to the house from the airport.

When we arrived we found Kim has a lovely home and we were made to feel at home ourselves straight away. The complex is in the suburb of Connolly, which is a 5 minute drive (if that) from the main centre of Joondalup. We were provided with all the essentials we needed in order to get us started and not worry about heading out to the shops immediately. Our room was large and in immaculate condition and our bathroom spacious and clean. We were also provided with a large number of utensils and cutlery to cook with along with our own toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer and TV, all situated with the bedroom. The room is also air conditioned with a new system and works fantastically well. If you are driving there is an additional parking space for your vehicle which is situated next to the pool.

The pool itself is shared by the complex, which has approximately 10 homes in but during our stay it was never used by anyone else. It is clean and a nice area to sunbathe and relax.

Kim is a fantastic host, very friendly and for us was a great source of knowledge about the area, which is ideal if you have only just arrived. We benefited a lot from speaking to Kim regarding the area and how to go about getting the essentials done and we are still in touch with her.

I would recommend Bright Skies to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced short term holiday home in or around the Joondalup/Connolly area without hesitation.

“5 Star Accommodation at 1 Star Prices”

As the first visitor to Bright Skies I had no previous reviews to base my decision to use it for my holiday accommodation.
I am very pleased that I made the decision to use it as I could only describe it as First Class
The property is set within a group of similar properties in the Suburb of Connolly. There is a communal swimming pool which although not currently open during the winter months, would be a great area to relax and cool down at other times. It is secluded and quiet, and there is a very pleasant garden area exclusive to the property where you can sunbathe, get shade and eat outside.
There is a parking spot exclusively for use of the guests. The use of a car is highly recommended, however there is a good shopping area within a 10 minute walk, and a bus stop within a similar distance.
The property itself is nicely decorated and has great facilities in terms of the lounge, kitchen and laundry which are shared with the host Kim. There is a guest cupboard where all the necessary crockery, cutlery, pans etc are stored.
There is a separate toilet and bathroom which are exclusively used by the guests.
The bedroom is a good size with a queen bed. It has new fitted robes, and has contemporary decoration and furnishings with tea and coffee making facilities and a free standing fridge with a small freezer.
When trying to pigeon hole the property I came up with several types to best describe it. You could call it a Guest House but it is probably best described as a self catering B and B without the breakfast. I have not found this type of property available in the Perth area in over 10 years of visiting the area, and it offers 5 star accommodation at 1 star prices.
The Host, Kim, has taken a lot of time effort and money to make her home suitable for her guests and I would highly recommend the property

Liked best: The whole experience.
Liked least: The only thing I would have liked was WIFI access. I discussed this with the owner and she is keen to find a solution to offer this service.
