We were going to meet up with some friends for a cold water swim in Camlough Lake. Dave, the group leader suggested we stay at The Black Gap Farm. That was an excellent recommendation! Marie has a beautiful farm house B&B, comfortable rooms, and great breakfast! When we arrived, one in our group was suffering from a cold and Marie drove him into town to see a doctor! She went out of her way to make our stay perfect! This is a working farm so there are cows grazing in the field next to the house. The front yard is landscaped to perfection. I would definitely recommend this B&B for anyone needing to stay in the Newry/Camlough area.

Stayed here on our 9 month old daughters first holiday while visiting family nearby. We could not have dreamt of a more hospitable, easy going and down to earth family to stay with. This b & b is so welcoming and great fun (for kids and adults!) The views are stunning. So peaceful and what a wonderful cooked breakfast in the morning. Will definitely return when in the area.

Black Gap Farm gets an 'Excellent' from us for a great farmhouse experience! They are a working farm, and the B&B is run by Marie McIlroy, a charming and wonderful woman. They raise chickens, have 3 huge henhouses, and also raise cows for milk. There are ponies and horses as well. If you go in the springtime, you will see foals and calves. The farmhouse itself is over 100 years old, but they've renovated the interior, and several of the rooms have ensuite bathrooms. The wifi is fast, and the room we stayed in (first on left at top of the stairs, a double with ensuite) also had a flatscreen tv. They used to get a lot of visitors from the US, but not as much recently (probably because they lack a website). The water pressure was very good, and the house is decorated in country house decor - artwork of horses and hounds and hunting, etc. It's conveniently located between Newry and Camlough, though it can be a bit tough to find (see the photos as I uploaded a nice map they have on the back of their business cards). Marie was kind enough to show the interior of the henhouses to us and explain a bit about the work she does collecting the eggs. It was absolutely fascinating! Would be a fun location for visiting with the family. For some reason, TA notes 3 rooms, but she mentioned that she had 6 rooms available for B&B. Breakfast was Irish Fry (as we requested), and very generous and large, as well as some nice cut fresh fruit, and strong tea, at the time we wanted. She was SO accommodating! I also uploaded the pictures of some of the rooms, as I thought it would be useful for other TA members. The next time I come to Ireland, I'm bringing my family and we are DEFINITELY staying at Black Gap Farm!

Room Tip: First two rooms upstairs on left have ensuite bathrooms. The others down the hallway share a bath, but that bath is nice and big.

Black Gap Farm has to be the best place we've ever stayed. A genuinely pleasing farm in the middle of the country with all the sights and sounds of a country farm. The owners are lovely people and the breakfasts have to be experienced to be believed. Conveniently located for amenities, the village of Camlough is just down the road, and Newry City only an estimated ten minute journey away by car. Highly recommended!
