For anyone visiting Wanaka/Cardrona area, Waiorau Homestead is THE place to stay and eat!

From the first moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm and beauty of Waiorau Homestead and the genuine warmth and impeccable hospitality of hosts, Ann and Blyth. Waiorau Homestead, with its beautifully furnished rooms, plethora of reading materials, picturesque gardens tucked in amongst the giant conifers, and magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, provided the perfect ending to a near perfect vacation. My husband, 14 month old son, Oska, and I spent three wonderful nights there. Oska had so much fun, playing with Ann's collection of eggs, flipping through the magazines, running around on the sprawling lawns, playing ball, swinging on the tree swing and eating ripe plums straight off the plum trees! Ann and Blyth were absolutely wonderful with Oska and made sure we had everything we needed (from highchair to portacot to fresh blueberries for the bub) during our time there. We decided to dine in on our second night and were so impressed by the food that we booked dinner for our third and last evening there. Blyth is a culinary maestro in the kitchen and served up a very generous 3 course dinner that was one of the best meals we've had in New Zealand! I'm still salivating over the white bait, beef fillet, NZ green lipped mussels, salmon, lemon curd, almond tart and fresh veggies you whipped up! Breakfast was fresh and plentiful and although Blyth offered us a cooked breakfast, we stuck to the continental spread (having eaten so much of the wonderful dinner the night before!). The cosy setting of Waiorau Homestead provided us with a wonderful opportunity to meet the other guests and yet, there was more than enough space to enjoy a bit of time out.
Thank you Ann & Blyth for your scintillating conversations and for sharing the magic of Waiorau Homestead with us! It's no surprise that you're rated number 1 B&B in Wanaka/Cardrona! We will most definitely be back!

Lots of love, Arnt, Mai Chi and Oska!

Dear Mai - Wow - what can we say! Thank you so much for your very generous review - we are blown away and very grateful! And of course it takes 2 to tango as they say ( or in this case 3 with little Oscar!) so your fabulous company made it just as enjoyable for us.
We are so looking forward to seeing you here again sometime soon. And thank you again.
All the best, Ann & Blyth.

It has nice rooms, garden and view towards Cardrona Valley. The hosts were very nice, offered good recommendation for us to explore the area. The breakfast prepared the next morning was fabulous, nice arrangement with hot breakfast served. We enjoyed our stay very much!

If you are travelling in New Zealand and anywhere near Queenstown or Wanaka you must try and stay with Ann and Blyth at Waiorau Homestead. They have made a beautiful home to stay in - stylish decorations and very comfortable beds - we stayed in the Harakeke room which had a king size and a single bed in the same room. We had exclusive use of a large bath/shower room directly across the hall. Great shower - we didn't get to use the spa bath. Now ..... Eating here is a great experience as breakfast has so many options from fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, toast, croissants, cheese and salami, followed by a freshly cooked hot breakfast of your choice. If you get a chance do book dinner sometime in your stay. Blyth is a chef and it shows - we had a delicious 3 course dinner with wine which was far better than many restaurants we have been to. Fine dining in a B&B - it was excellent. Good to sit down with other guests too as it makes breakfast/ dinner a time to share experiences of your holiday. Nothing is too much trouble for Ann and Blyth and we had a great time staying with them for 3 nights.
Don't hesitate to book - you will love it!

Room Tip: Harakeke room is great
