Stopped off en route from Queenstown for something tasty and hot (snow on the Lindis). The carrot, cumin and coconut soup was just the ticket.

We ate brunch outside under the warm September sun and the food was great as was the service. I wish we had had the chance to eat dinner there as I feel sure it would have been good.

We went for dinner and both had the lamb rack. It was fantastic! We came back again for breakfast the next day and the waffles were very tasty too. It was a touch pricey, but not drastically. Sitting by the fire on a cold night is very cosy, and I would definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area.

We were driving from Lake Tekapo to Queenstown and to be honest we stopped here because we weren’t sure when we’d next find a coffee shop, but in fact it was excellent. Lovely coffee and cakes, great service and we were only sorry that we’d breakfasted before setting off as the cooked food looked great

Poppies Cafe was cosy and inviting. Quiet at this time of year, but still a nice atmosphere. The waitress was friendly and helpful and not at all pushy. The food was delicious and the local brew on tap was great! Probably a bit more expensive than we would usually pay on a budget holiday, however it was well worth treating ourselves and highly recommend stopping here for dinner!
