We bought a half-off deal for a weekend here in October through Peixe Urbano. Things did not get off to a good start, as we had booked one of the houses close to the beach, but they had put us in one of the apartments, which look onto the street. We complained mildly, but chose to take our lumps and not make a scene.
Our apartment was nicely furnished. We had two bedrooms, two baths, and a kitchen. The upstairs bedroom had gorgeous hard-wood floors, but looked onto the street. Due to the noise of the cars going by at all hours, we chose to sleep in the other bedroom, which looked onto the parking area. Both bathrooms were smallish. We could only get hot water to come out of one shower. The one that did have hot water had duct tape on the knob, which took away from the ambiance. The sunflower theme was evident throughout - towel racks, table cloth, soap dish, borders around the mirrors, etc. A cute touch. The TV looked like it was 20 years old and the battery cover on the remote control was missing. We had one lunch in the kitchen, which had all the essentials for making a simple meal. Breakfast is not provided, but there are a couple cafés nearby. The parking area was nicely kept and had adequate space for maneuvering.

I'm not sure why, but the maintenance guy chose to do several loud projects on Saturday afternoon - mowing the lawn, using an electrical saw for something, and lots of hammering. Surely he could have chosen to do that during the week, when there are fewer guests?
To be honest, all of the drawbacks above are minor, especially when compared to the excellent location (right in the middle of Bombinhas Beach) and the beautiful, grassy central courtyard between the houses and the apartments. Most of the houses have a barbecue area and a porch or patio. There is a common gazebo and small deck right at the entry to the beach too. If you are here during the high season, you will certainly pay a high price. But keep your eyes peeled for deals in other months.More
