I am from Lancashire so travelled a couple of hours to get here- I enjoyed every minute! It does help if you are a parrot enthusiast or pet owner, but would recommend for all ages and interests. Apart from having a vast selection of birds, the hands-on experience is something that is very rare in Britain. I was able to handle as many birds as I liked, and this included the majestic Hyacinth Macaw (the largest parrot), an Amazon, Sun Conures, Scarlet and Blue Macaws, Rosellas, and others. I wouldn't bank on spending a day out here- 2 hours is more than sufficient, and would recommend wellies or similar as the paths can be muddy. I have travelled the UK, having a particular interest in parrots, and there is nowhere quite like this- highly recommended.

A great unique experience where you can get close to the the birds and feed them! It is suitable for old ages. There is also Averie’s that you can go in to and explore the different types of birds which adds to the experience rather than them being caged up. At the end of the trail you are greeted by all sorts of birds and you can stroke them, they can even climb onto you!

The food at the cafe is very good too, good prices and a wide variety to choose from, the service is also very good and will be returning in the summer when the weather is better, I would recommend!

My husband and I travel here as often as we can because we are slightly addicted!
Wonderfully interactive and educational setting to really engage with our feathered friends. Zoe the Molluccan Cockatoo is a star with his loud “Hello” call! He does not like children though so keep little ones away from his tree.
The birds can bite so it’s important to read up a bit to prevent any near calls but we love going to have a cuddle and feed them all some treats.
A great day out.
