We entered the 'love bank' expecting it to be cheesy and overpriced but I actually really enjoyed it. It's mainly for Slovakian tourists but they provide headphones with an English translation for foreigners which was quite well executed. After you visit the love bank itself though, the audioguide stops and the guide has to translate the rest of the tour to us (after the Slovakian explanation). This was fine but I imagine they will soon have the rest of the tour on audioguide.
It's actually quite a new exhibition that only opened in December 2017 so they're still renovating other parts of the house to open up more areas.
It's quite a short tour but very modern and brings the old love story to life. It's also interactive so keeps you interested. If you're planning on putting a loved keepsake in a box, bring it with you and be prepared to fork out €125. Otherwise enjoy how sweet the story is and take photos in the love bank. Tips: wear pants (the floor in the bank is made of mirrors so it's awkward to wear a skirt), tour might be a bit depressing if you've just broken up with someone, strollers can't be taken in but you can leave them at the front desk.

Dear Stella, thank you very much for your review and we are happy that you enjoyed it. We will soon have the rest of the tour on audioguide. The price for a box, where people can put a loved keepsake depends od the duration. People can have their own box for 1 day for 25 eur, for 1 year for 50 eur or even for eternity for 100 eur. Those wearing short skirts can use our long skirts in order to avoid awkward moments in the love bank that is made of mirrors. Our love bank is for everybody, because everybody loves somebody.

It was really a one-of-a-kind museum but still could be better for the price paid (12€ per person, student discount only for children up to 17 years old). However, it was really interactive and we all felt engaged. The most interesting were definitely talking pictures on the walls. Souvenir shop is good and not that expensive. Maybe we would add some typical old clothing for the staff or for the visitors to try out to feel the atmosphere even more. But definitely worth a visit!

I have always had this place on my list to visit it. I finally visited it and it was so worth it! I love everything about it. They even provide English tours for non Slovak speakers.
It was a beautiful little tour and I got to learn a lot about Andrej Sladkovič and his poem dedicated to Marina.
I am very satisfied.
Banska Štavnica is one of the most beautiful towns in Slovakia and the love Bank just adds to its beauty.

I am not able to write an original apology on Banská Štiavnica.
Banská Štiavnica is marvelous... picturesque... lovely... etc No doubt.

Turists from the world make proof of it.
Nice walks in the town with historical spirit are now completed with this atraction.

It is a modern institution which and not an old fashioned museum.

Real historically proven love story is framed in dynamic exhibition
adoring love in a way which everybody understands.
Refreshing exhibition depicts the story. Visitors of all ages will enjoy a "love bank" animated paintings of actors, ilumination of space where the love story lived her own life.
This is the last stone in the visitors mosaic of this lovely town. The most precious stone...

This is an interactive museum, dedicated to one of the most famous Slovak poems, and to love as such. The attention to detail, wit and creativity that you see here is second to none. The museum is not big, but worth a visit (plus they are planning to reconstruct further parts of the house and maybe broaden the exhibition).
