After having seen different places, this is the best solution we have found in Phonsavan. It is centrally located near the Agricultural market, it is very clean, nice people. The room are big, all have wifi and attached bathroom with (real) hot water. The room are located in three floors, but all they are quite and facing a nice courtyard.

This hotel had just opened and we must have been some of the first guests to stay there as everything seemed to still have the labels on and the smell of fresh paint. The check-in guys were very helpful and friendly. We took a twin and a double for the night, they both had decent bathrooms, hot water and TVs and wifi. The rooms were spacious, clean with comfy beds. We really enjoyed our stay here and definitely recommend it.

Centrally located: 10 minute walk from bus station to Vang Vieng/Vientianne and local markets.. Within 5 minute walk to Cranky T's Cafe, Lao Falong, Bamboozle, and local restaurants. About 4-5 travel agencies within 5 minute walk that can arrange tours or rent you motorbike.
Hot Water - I actually had to turn the water heater down because the water gets hot.
Super quiet - rooms are in the back off the main road.
Free filtered water - you can fill up your reusable containers with free drinking water.
Wi-Fi - very strong in room and throughout.
TV - Plenty of channels, including CNN for international news.
No need for air conditioning if you're staying during dry winter months.
CONS: Keep in mind this is a budget place. But a very good budget place. That's why I rated this place "Excellent" because of the value you get for the price. The staff speak limited English but they're super friendly and kind. The decor is funny in certain places and a bit mixed...but that's part of the charm. But for travelers, it checks all the boxes - clean bed, hot shower, strong Wi-Fi, good location, and a few unexpected bonuses for the price. Very good value overall.
This is very central and roomy, no aircon but a ceiling fan is fine here. Mr Geer, who runs the guesthouse, is friendly, helpful, and speaks good English. Close to all the popular restaurants, the MAG UXO and Survivor Centres. Missed cleaning the room one day and the bathroom floor never completely drained but for K80,000 per night it was still great value.
After 3 days in a 'boutique' hotel in a pokey room with very few redeeming features it was a breathe if fresh air to find Jennida Guest House in Phonsavan. We were lucky to be welconed by Geer who was welcoming, accommodating and spoke great English but not only that the rooms were spacious, bright and unlike the other hotels in the main drag had a balcony view away from the main street. For the first time on our trip in Laos we took a fan room - there is no need to pay for air con at this altitude at this time of the year - this was the cheapest room available. We were also offered a reduced deal if 80000 kip per night. It wasnt perfect but spavcousness cleanliness and friendliness go a long way
The guesthouse is located on the main drag in Phonsavan, a few steps away from Cranky-T's cafe. It is cheap, $10 for a room with hot water. There is no a/c, but it doesn't get very hot in Phonsavan. Housekeeping will do laundry on request. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are large. Good value compared to other guesthouses in the same price range.
