Owner description: This second oldest zoo in the U.S., considered one of the best in the country, is most renowned for its endangered species and birthing programs, particularly for gorillas and white tigers, and has a wonderful collection of felines and a delightful manatees exhibit.

Although I am not very comfortable about the neighborhood the zoo is located in. We do love to see the animals though - I think they need to relocate this zoo and remodel it. Some of the enclosures for the animals could be better and more comfortable for them.

In the past year, I have been to the Cincinnati Zoo a few times. 2 things that have impressed me the most are: variety & cleanliness, particularly for a zoo!

Don't miss the penguin parade if you are visiting during penguin days. There is one parade in the morning and one in the afternoon. (If it is too warm they don't have it.) It is wonderful to see the penguins in their outdoor enclosure instead of watching them behind thick glass. We have been to this zoo many many times. Visiting in January was great because many exhibits are indoors and the place was not crowded at all and many of the animals were active. Also, it was a nice way to get some outdoor walking activity and beat cabin fever. Many of the gift shops and food stands were closed for the season but it was still fun. Be prepared, parking is expensive.

This zoo always seems to have something new every year. From the updated cat house to the new cheetah exhibit, this place always has something to draw you back and keep you interested.

Loved this Zoo! It was half price to get in during the month of February so that was a bonus! This is a very large zoo, very spread out so a lot of walking on hilly area. It was a sunny day about 45 degrees and perfect. Not too crowded, and could see all the exhibits without a problem. It took about 3 hours to walk through. Would definitely recommend!
