This was our first time going to Waikki. Our group included me, my husband, our 16 month old, my mother and my 16 yr old neice. We wanted a place where we could separate our sleeping and living (especially for nap time and early bed time). The Wyndham worked perfectly. We rented a 2 bedroom. There was plenty of space in the master suite for the pack n play crib (which housekeeping was quick to send up for us). My neice expected to sleep on the couch and was plesently surprised by the 2 beds in the second bedroom. We were able to cook a few meals. We were asked once about going to a presentation, but said "no" and were never bothered again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool area was a little small as were the lanai's(balconies) off the room. Parking at the hotle is expensive, but within a 5 min. walk there was cheaper parking.

We rented from Chris (HawaiiCondosUSA.com ). He was very helpful and the process went smoothly. We would deffinatly go back and rent from Chris again.

A real surprise packet!
We booked a studio for a week and we were placed on one of the top floors. It gave us a great view. The studio had all the amenities and was very comfortable. It was quite roomy with cable T V and free wireless internet. Very good location just off Waikiki strip. Reception were excellent with their service. Would we come back? Definitely!

Room Tip: xAsk for a room on the upper levels to get the view and to avoid the noise down below.

We just got home from a 7 night stay at the Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk. We rented a 2 bedroom condo for 8 people and it was everyone's first trip to O'ahu.

We were really impressed with the price point for this large condo type rental. The room itself was spacious enough for 8 people but did feel a little cramped after a few days. The room consisted of the following: (1) a master suite with an attached master bath, its own balcony, large closet and tv; (2) a second bedroom with 2 full size beds, a spacious closet, tv and another balcony; (3) a full size living room with attached dining room table (seats 6) and pull out couch (sleeps 1-2) and kitchen; (4) washer and dryer in unit; and (5) a second full bath in the main area and a 3rd balcony off the living room.

The decor of the room was somewhat modern but pretty cheap/basic style - nothing fancy here.

The benefit of this hotel was definitely the location. I was really impressed to see that we were in the middle of the beach walk shopping, restaurant and hotel area. Very convenient if you decide against a car rental. The hotel is not on the beach but there is beach access approx 2-3 blocks away (5-10 min walk). The hotel does have a nice size pool and hot tub; although, the sun at the pool goes away around 2-3pm.

With that said, the area is really busy and maybe not ideal for those honeymooners or couples wanting a quiet and relaxing trip to Hawaii. My husband and I (part of the group of 8 at this hotel) had been to Maui before and we were really shocked with how noisy and busy this area was compared to anything we experienced in Maui.

The other benefit was the kitchen and gadgets they provided. We made breakfast and lunches on most days and the kitchen had everything we needed - right down to dish towels, dish detergent, pans, utensils, spatulas and tons of other essentials for cooking.

We had two major negatives with this hotel: the balconies and the couch. The couch was the worst thing we had ever sat on. It was just really really cheap. With that said, you can imagine how uncomfortable the pull out bed in the couch was after a few nights. The mattress on the couch pullout was so dirty and gross. It was also only 2 inches thick and very heavily worn out. If you plan on using this as a 4th bed, just keep in mind adults may have a hard time sleeping on this thing for a few nights in a row.

The second negative was the balcony but I say that with a grain of salt. Our room faced Lewers street and the main stores across from the hotel - so basically, we had a decent view (it wasn't the parking lot as other commenters noted they had). All the balconies on this side of the hotel ware extremely small, only fitting one chair. So while we had 3 balconies in the 3 different rooms, only one person could be on them at one time and they did not connect. This seemed to only be an annoyance late at night when we all wanted to chill outside and talk but didn't want to walk to the beach. Minor issue but still annoying. I guess we had a decent view of the shopping area and main street (not really the beach or ocean) so it was ok.

The time share people are extremely aggressive and we were just savvy and did our best to avoid them. They do keep calling and telling you that it is "mandatory" that you speak with them. I thought that was extremely annoying considering all they want to do is get you into the meeting. Note - if you decide to go to the sales meeting they were offering a $100 amex gift card and 2 breakfast buffets at a different hotel.

The condo we stayed in was not cleaned on a daily basis BUT the front desk provided any refills you needed, including: clean towels, paper towels, dish detergent, soap, etc. They even came to our room a few days and asked if we wanted clean towels and they took away the old ones.

Overall, good location if you want the hustle and bustle and very nice but basic hotel, esp for the price.

I was looking for a nice hotel at a reasonable price something often tough in Waikiki. I stayed at the Wyndham Waikiki before with friends and was impressed with the resort so I searched VRBO for available units. Through luck I stumbled across a booking with Weng Cheong IP Properties (Mr Weng) website is http://www.myhawaiiresort.com. Not only was the room exactly as advertised the price was incredible. We had a 1bdr deluxe with a full kitchenette, sofa bed and washer/dryer. The 1bdr deluxe was plenty large enough for my wife and I and our 2 children 4yrs and 2yrs. The resort has daily activities and an incredibly helpful and friendly staff.

We previously stayed in a 2bdr also amazing. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the beach and located close to everything.

A couple slight minuses there wasn't daily room cleaining and only valet parking which isn't cheap but after the great price for the room still cheaper than any other simple hotel room. Also inside corner units have pretty much no view from the balcony.

I will definately stay there again and definately book through mr Weng

Room Tip: corner rooms ending in X09 have no views but rooms are still nice. Higher rooms have a better view a...
