Hale Koa Hotel
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 26 February 2012

We stayed at the Hale Koa for our 35th wedding anniversary. The room was great with a view of the ocean. The hotel is on Waikiki beach and is convenient to everything a tourist might want. The Hale Koa has several restaurants on the property that are reasonably priced. Each room has a referigerator but no microwave (there is a microwave on each floor in the laundry room). We enjoyed the adult pool (18 years old and above only) and the hot tub. Internet connectivity was expensive at $9.95 per day but we were on vacation and didn't really care about wifi. They do have a kiosk where you can sign-in to your flight and print boarding passes for free. All in all...this was a wonderful stay and we are looking forward to visiting again soon.

Room Tip: all rooms were excellent...we are particularly fond of the ocean view

Hale Koa has convinced us that we need to return to Hawaii as soon as possible. We had a wonderful time. The resort has everything and is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. It was clean and everyone was very friendly.

As others have mentioned there is no microwave and the fridge isn’t the best. No WiFi either – but still a great place.

We had breakfast at the restaurant on sight. It was good. Eggs a little overcooked but all in all good. I had the macadamia nut pancakes, delicious.

My husband and I stayed at the Hale Koa, for 8 days the Thanksgiving 2011 time frame. We have been there many times in the past. The location and price can not be beat. This time though we werre fortunate enough to garner a corner room. The view was great and the room was nicer than the average room they offer. The room we had this time had a king bed and a sofa. We have always had 2 doubles in the past.

The rooms are always clean, the staff helpful, and the grounds are very pleasant. I love the lobby area where you can relax with a book and catch a breeze or just people watch. The NEX on site is a plus and you can walk to anything else you want, shopping, restaurants, etc.

We ate most every day at one of the restaurants on site. Bibba's was the best option and we love the outdoor dining. Sunset at the Barefoot Bar is awesome. We try to visit Hawaii at least once a year and since we found the Hale Koa, that is where we stay. Overall it's a nice hotel for a great price.

Room Tip: The corner rooms are the nicest, but the hardest to get. We had to book a year in advance to get on...

We have stayed at the Hale Koa on 15 different occasions over the years and I doubt if we will ever return after our last visit, don't get me wrong the property is located on one of the nicest stretches of beach you can find and the price is rite but sadly the place is slowly going down hill and it appears that they have not upgraded the rooms in years nor the bedding in them. If you do some searching on the internet you can find much better deals and nicer rooms with Free Internet and better food then you get at the Hale Koa and with much better service, and as long has you have a Military ID you can still visit the Hale Koa and use the beach and dine and drink there if you wish.

Room Tip: If you stay here and you don't want to spend the money for an Ocean View room ask for one of the...
