Wonderful lobster and great chicken. A very quiet place which can be a bit of joy in such a busy town as this.

Highly recommended from our yacht captain and it didn’t disappoint. Known for their fresh fish. Upstairs there are ocean views and a bar, downstairs is a bit noisy but the food outstanding

The food here was really good, and the service was great. We sat at the bar on the top level and the staff were very engaging and helpful. Great food, and very good wine selection. Highly recommend it when in Newport.

Ate here our first night in Newport. Excellent service and great food! Started with mussels and had striped bass and it was very good. Friends had Fluke and lamb and were very happy!!!! Our room was a little loud but we were happy at this restaurant

We stopped in Flukes for an early evening of drinks and appetizers...all were fantastic!

We got the middle round table in the main room, with a view of the surrounding Bannister’s wharf buildings and the harbor beyond. It was the Volvo cup races, so the bay was full of sails, great backdrop to perfectly presented original mixed drinks ( I had the Mt Gay Eclipse Rum, Q tonic, and lime - very refreshing).

Then came the array of succulent appetizers, starting with freshly baked rolls and creamery butter, then on to perfectly seasoned lamp meatballs in the savory sauce that demanded to be kept on the table after the meatball were gone, eventually wiped clean by bread bites.

Supplementing this were crispy oysters on the half shell, drenched in a flavorful sauce of Mango Pepper Relish with Red Chili Mayo.

Supporting side dishes of spicy green beans with a tangy dipping sauce, contrasting nicely with the bacon wrapped dates and a trio of bruschetta slices mounded high with fresh tomatos slivers and seasonings kept the table busy rotating the many plates to assure everyone got the opportunity to try everything.

Then the pièce de résistance was served table center...the scallops arrived! Beautifully presented on a bed of Jasmine Rice, Leeks, Baby Bok Choy, Mushroom, Eggplant, Chili/Lime Glaze, the huge St Georges Bank scallops were pan seared to a golden brown that demanded getting your cell phone camera memorializing the creation. A good thing to document them, because the platter was clean to the plate with a few minutes. While I have sampled scallops worldwide, these were the best I have had!

We should have stopped then, fully satiated and content, but could not pass on sampling the desert menu. We split two choices for the table , the Goat’s Cheesecake with Wildflower Honey & Strawberries, and of course a Cream Brulee.

A perfect finish to a perfect culinary experience.

Fluke has a permanent spot on my must-go-to's when visiting Newport!
