Hubby and I have been to SJ's about a year ago but couldn't remember if we liked it, so we thought we'd try it again. Glad we did. I had the quesadilla with steak and he had the taco salad with steak. Presentation of was nice for both. The steak was tender and savory. The salsas in their bar were fresh and flavorful. They even had a fruit and basil salsa that was wonderful. TVs were on to old surfing videos and basketball. 60s and 70s classic rock was playing as background music...just right volume. I was aware of that because we could hear each other without straining. I like Snapper Jack's and will go back.

I have been a long time customer of Snapper Jacks because the food is pretty good, but their prices are just far too expensive. The food itself has a good flavor because they put their signature “shack sauce” on most items, which causes a lot of their food to have a similar flavor, but if you like it then you will enjoy their food. However, having to pay about $11 for a chicken quesadilla and about $4 for a single soft taco is pretty ridiculous. This is not a nice sit-down restaurant that has waiters and provides a great atmosphere. It is a very small, quick-bite kind of restaurant with tight spaces that does not justify the prices. They also charge for everything. After spending over $70 for some burritos and quesadillas a family member politely asked for a little sour cream, and instead of just saying “Sure, here you go”, they said “We won’t give it to you for free. You’ll have to pay for it.” I understand that they didn’t have to give it to us, but normally most restaurants would give a tablespoon of sour cream because they appreciate the customers and realize that they had already spent a lot of money. Overall, Snapper Jacks has some tasty food, but the taste is not worth what you pay.

Almost raw, big pieces of broccoli and raw big pieces of carrots....and zucchini! What!!?? Who thought this was a good idea? At a Mexican restaurant? I did order a "vegetarian burrito" but on the menu it said grilled onions and peppers, pinto or refried beans, potatoes, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. No grilled onions, no peppers, no lettuce, very few potatoes, and no cheese that I could tell. The beans were kind of gross.
I have been here before a few times and had potato tacos, that are good, if you don't get the bagged lettuce that has an awful taste. But this was just wrong.
It will be a while till I go back, if ever.
