La Fonda is close to our hotel so we decided to stop for drinks and some late day "snacks." We were very fortunate to get a table, in this otherwise crowded bar, and to have Joel as our server. We ordered guacamole, tortilla soup and chicken quesadillas. The soup was okay, the guacamole was fresh and the quesadillas were very tasty and filling. They had some live music that sounded like it was going to be most enjoyable.

This is a very popular, very busy place. Great place to grab Lunch. While we were here, they offered a nice New Mexican buffet at Lunch. At night, this place was jammed every night we stayed at the La Fonda. Live entertainment several nights a week.

We went to see some Cuban music but we were under impressed.
The service was okay and the food was good, however the food and drinks were expensive.
Not sure that we got good value.

It was good to meet old friends here sharing a glass of wine, chicken nachos, and guacamole dip and chips. This is a great old bar that has history and class. The food was good. The wine was good. It was a lot of fun just like it always seems to be. We have a little history here, but La Fonda has wonderful history. It is great just being able to take in a little bit with your friends.

We go the the La Fiesta Lounge often and were so surprised to see its wonderful remodel. Its still cozy, fitting with the La Fonda ambience but somehow more polished and less "dusty"...in a good way. It still serves a nice buffet and from a menu. It is still one of the better places to enjoy live musical entertainment around 7:30 in the evening.

In fact the entire lobby area and some of the La Fonda shops have also been updated, regaining the wonderful polished patina it had lost a little of the the past few years. It was certainly a pleasant surprise.

There is also an excellent, connected coffee bar in the area just slightly up the hall and new seating near the fireplace and more seating in the lobby area.
